Theme 1 * The first theme was “ Wars Against the Indians in the United States and Argentina”. - Almost 100, 000 Indians east of the Mississippi were removed westward, leaving their homelands in the eastern United States open to settlement. - The United States government regarded the great plains as a desert and was content at first to leave the country in the possession of the Indians. -In 1492, the great plains were sparsely inhabited. - In Argentina, as in the United States, a population of European descent sought to expand into a hinterland occupied by Indians.
3. Theme 2 The 2nd theme was “ The Subjugation of the Zulu and the Sioux” * The British military exercised a decisive influence in the destruction of the Zulu Kingdom, in the other hand, in North America, the army’s conquest of influx of settlers and the expansion of railways across the Great Plains. *After the defeat of Custer’s, the army prosecuted war against the Sioux with new forts on the Yellowstone River, an additional twenty-five hundred cavalry privates, and control over the Sioux agencies. The destruction of the Zulu kingdom thus paved the way for the proletarianization of its people and for the promotion of legal white supremacy in South Africa in the twentieth century.
