- One of a series of new LSIS regional learning fairs. Aimed to provide information, approaches and support that will help you with planning your curriculum and staff development to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
- AUDIENCE TYPES LSIS ACCOUNTS – ADDITIONAL £1,000 [ LSIS is giving every provider an additional £1000 worth of credit in their LSIS account to mark the start of the new academic year. The total amount of credit in your LSIS account is for your organisation to spend by 31 March 2011. Using this credit gives your organisation access to our services free of charge All Learning and Skills sector providers can now apply for virtual credit in the form of an LSIS account. Each newly activated account will be given a minimum of £2,500 to spend immediately on our services until the end of March 2011, at which point the allocations will be reviewed. ]
- Exploring what it means to be sector-led Learning Fairs include the following regions: East Midlands – EMCETT London - IfL West Midlands – SUNCETT North East, Yorks and Humber and North West - Newcastle College South West – Learning South West South East and Eastern – JISC

- LSIS commitment to Advanced Change Agents – CPD Recognition scheme
- These are the Teaching and Learning programmes, all linked through a common purpose of improving the quality of teaching and learning A change agent is an individual who: is recruited prior to implementation of a change; is a well-regarded representative of the area they work in; understands the reasoning behind the change; helps to communicate the excitement, possibilities and details of the change to others within the organisation; has the knowledge, skills and techniques to support their peers to transform the way they work.
- Anything about the modular approach ? Pathway 1 – Existing advanced change agents supported with online modules, cascade funding, new resources, Cascader, etc Pathway 2 – New advanced change agents – Consultation with the sector to consider the core generic module[s] + electives Pathway 3 – Organisations without change agents – how to support them: ACA directory; Training; CETTs’ training ?
- FiF: Bids, for up to a maximum of £50,000, will be invited from consortia of provider organisations for projects which are genuinely innovative and which have the potential to significantly enhance the practice and performance of the learning and skills sector. LSIS will particularly welcome bids from providers working through cross-sector and extra-sector consortium arrangements. Bids from individual provider organisations will not be accepted in this funding round. LSIS will continue to encourage innovative bids on a variety of topics that address the strategic priorities of the sector. However, for this funding round we will particularly welcome consortia bids that address specific issues and problems in defined locations – based on the principles of Total Place* (* see ‘guidance on submitting applications’ listed below).
