  2. 2. Motivation levels vary! The motivation to work reaches peaks and troughs. It’s generally a healthy thing – a sign that we need a break, or that the work is what we really enjoy doing. But sometimes, it’s just our brains being unhelpful. People can manage their motivation. Motivation makes working fun – it’s the key to getting the job done! Need to talk to someone about your job? 3. 3. So how can we motivate ourselves? • Before we list our nine motivational practices, consider that motivation comes internally, not externally. • Having a personal direction – a vision for yourself – is key to achieving tasks. Everything we are about to cover stems from this fact. Need to talk to someone about your job? Call a careers advisor on 0121 707 0550
