2. Traditional methods of land leveling are
cumbersome, time consuming, and expensive,
so more and more mankind are turning to
modern methods to level the land.
In surface leveling using LASER technology
,transmitter sends LASER range data to a field
for proper and accurate land leveling.
3. Laser guided land leveler is an instrument which is used for fine land
leveling. This instrument can be mounted on another vehicle like tractor
or bulldozers. There are three main parts transmitter, receiver and
controller. Laser beam is used as a transmitter. Si pin photodiode is used
as a receiver. For control action PIC microcontroller is used.
4. Laser leveling is a process of smoothing the land
surface (± 2 cm) from its average elevation. This
practice uses large horsepower tractors and soil
movers that are equipped with global positioning
systems (GPS) and laser-guided instrumentation so
that the soil can be moved either by cutting or filling
to create the desired slope level. This technique is
well known for achieving higher levels of accuracy in
land leveling.

accurate as compare to other techniques.

Decreases the time to complete tasks.
Easy to operate.
Saves labor cost.
Fine leveling is possible in less time.
DISADVANTAGES:-
High cost of the equipment/laser instrument.
Need for skilled operator to set/adjust laser settings and operate
the tractor.
Less efficient in irregular and small sized fields.
We can’t use this instrument in extremely foggy condition.

14. We have studied various aspects, operation and
applications of LASER technology by using
Microcontroller. Using the data and knowledge
we acquired, we are going to make complete
hardware implementation for the application of
surface leveling.
After determining the architecture of
transmitter, controller and receiver, all elements
will be put under study and research.. At the end
synchronization and configuration of
microcontrollers with the objective will be
carried out.
