This document provides information about anti-lock braking systems (ABS) including: 1) It discusses the basic functions of ABS and how ABS works by pumping the brakes rapidly to prevent wheel lockup and allow the driver to steer during hard braking. 2) It provides instructions for drivers on how to use ABS in cars, light trucks, and heavy trucks which is to stomp and stay on the brakes and steer around obstacles. 3) It discusses integrating ABS education into defensive driving courses by teaching the basic functions of ABS and how braking differs from traditional braking techniques.
