 Edita Food Industries S.A.E
 today Edita is a leader in ( FMCG ) company in Egypt and the
Middle East and the second ranked snack food company in
Egypt with 13% market share
 Edita has 5,542 employees and 73 stock-keeping units
(SKUs).
 Edita manufactures, readymade food, pastries, chocolates,
baked snack products comprising packaged cakes, croissants,
rusks, and wafers, as well as candy products.

 Edita Food Industries S.A.E was founded by Hani El-Barzi
in 1996 and is headquartered in 6th of October City,
Egypt.
 Edita holds leading market share in each of 5 segments

 Is fragmented logistics structure, logistics activities are
managed in multiple departments throughout an
organization.
 For Example, might assign outbound transportation,
demand forecasting, warehousing management and
customer service to the marketing department.

 Differentiation strategy
The main factors for success with a differentiation
strategy are that customers must desire the extra
features and be willing to pay a price premium for
them. The cost of providing the extras must be less
than the price premium they are prepared to pay.

GREEN LOGISTICS
 Green logistics describes all attempts to measure and minimize
the environmental impact of logistics activities. This includes all activities
of the forward and reverse flows of products, information and services
between the point of origin and the point of consumption.
Edita’s management system clearly outlines requirements for the policies,
specifications and programs that guide operations, guaranteeing the
highest standards in production safety, occupational safety and health &
environmental standards across the entire Edita system.
ENVIRONMENT
 Edita is committed to the protection of the environment
surrounding its facilities. The Health, Safety and
Environment (HSE) department ensures that all
company facilities comply with relevant environmental
rules and regulations.

• The company holds a leading market share in each of its five segments,
a success driven by the company’s reputation for quality and
affordability. With four state-of-the-art production facilities encompassing
26 production lines, as well as a nationwide distribution network.

• Edita’s source of raw materials is domestically with
77% and internationally with 23%.
• The company avoids relying on a sole supplier to
obtain raw materials so to reduce any potential
leverage a certain supplier might have over the
company; whether in terms of pricing, quality or
delivery. Likewise, the company keeps supplies secure
by working only with tried and tested suppliers.

another and edita owns 544 vehicles to distribute
their products to 20 distribution centers among 16
governates.

• Looking ahead, Edita intends to focus on maintaining its
relationships with existing customers while enhancing
vertical and horizontal sales growth by working to increase
order size and further developing its distribution capacity.
The company aims to shift the current wholesale to retail
ratio from 65:35 to an even 50:50 and thus maintaining
better control and further enhancing its market feel.
