Treatment
The video is a series of eventful memories, good and bad highlighting their relationship over the
past year of a while Tom Odell mimes his debut single ‘Another Love’. The hand held camera will
capture memories that they have shared together along with images and personal location settings
linking to the lyrics. A story portrayed through the camera. Sudden changes within the relationship
and the environment that they are places will reveal the strain that the relationship had on one
another. Throughout the ups and down of the relationship shown through memories, the artist is
mime singing in front of a brick wall to portray his emotions and memories have been stripped
away and destroyed leaving him plain and emotionless.
As the music video start to reveal, Another Love will not play straight away. There will be a short
intro revealing how the couple meet. The artist will be walking down the street listening to his
music through head phones which the audience can just hear. The song playing will be another one
of Tom Odell’s song, ‘Hold Me’, a track before Another Love from his debut album ‘Long Way Down’.
This will instantly interact the audience with the music video, especially major Tom Odell fans as
they will recognize the flow from one track to another. As he takes his ear phone out, the pair start
to talk blossoming the start of their relationship. This will trigger a over load of memories on the
screen. A time laps of a rose and the sun will show the past from the present.
As the music video comes to an end, the memories get more disturbed and cracks within the
relationship start to show. The lighting has changed to black and white and arguments start to
break out. The artists clearly become aggressive when he is miming the lyrics and resulting in him
smashing and breaking things between the pair. The ending of the music video will mirror the
beginning but when he takes his ear phones out, the girl will not be there and he will carry his
journey along the street .

Mise-en-scene
Throughout the music video the clothing on the
couple will be very casual. Each different memory i
would like to have a different out fit for to establish
more that they are memories and not in the
present day. The only props that are needed are
the rose and a phone listening to a song through
headphones. I plan to get all of these items or have
already got. Overall i will need 2 members of cast, a
girl and a boy to represent the couple and the boy
as the artist along side the one in the relationship.

Location
For the intro and ending of the music video i am
going to place the scenes within a quiet street so i
can focus the camera shot on the pair meeting
and none else. This will intensify the mood of the
couple meeting and will grip the viewers more.
The location of the different memories are still un
decided but i have a few ideas in mind.
Restaurant, park, field (time laps). Most of the
memories will be in random places relating to the
couple with close ups of the pair.

Lighting
To create the mood that i need and most of the
filming will be outside where light in
unpredictable, i will use a lot of filters for the
memory parts of the music video. I would like
a vintage, cinema looking filter on top of the
memory scenes to portray that they are in the
past and are vintage. When the artist is
miming the lyrics i would like direct sunlight
on him why miming. This is to separate the
memories from the miming scenes.
