Project Description:
The Credit Authorization Simulator is an authorization application that runs under Windows NT and Windows 2000
which allows credit card issuers to create messages that their host systems would expect to receive and
recreates messages similar to the one which gets generated at Merchants, Acquirer Location. Simulator is a
replica of a Point Of Sale machine which either uses VISA or MasterCard network. Simulator Automation project
involved the task of creating Automation Scripts for functionalities like Card Profile Creation , Transaction Profile
Creation and submitting Authorization Requests. The script writing activity included writing QTP Automation
Scripts using Keyword Driven Framework developed in Excel Macro. Each of the Authorization Request Script
included the precondition validation on Mainframe Screen and then processing of Authorization Request from
VISA/Master Card Simulator frontend (developed in VB Dot Net) and then performing post validation on
Mainframes Screen.
Roles & Responsibilities:
 Performing a Feasibility study in understanding the areas of Automation, complexity of Manual
Scripts and evaluating the Return on Investment.
 Configuration of Seat License as Concurrent License could not be configured from Simulator
machine.

involved validation on mainframes Screen and execution of Automation Scripts which needed post batch
validations. Toolbars is Windows Based Application developed in Visual Basic and is used by Customer Care
and Collection Department of HSBC Card Services. This project involved writing and updating Regression
Automation Suite developed in QTP 9.2 on a Release basis, with mainframe File Validation on TSOSJ and File
Aid.The Customer Service Representative of HSBC Card Services had IVR system which was used by card-
holders , to which voice menu had to be tested on monthly basis.
