Identify the components of power system. 2. Analyze linear electric/magnetic circuits. 3. Analyze simple single/three phase ac circuits. 4. Explain the principle of operation of transformer and induction motors. 5. Derive the equivalent circuit model of transformer and induction motor and estimate their performance indices if the parameters are given. 6. Comprehend and appreciate the features of basic measuring instruments. Evaluation Plan: • Assignments – 10 % • In semester examination – 40 % (Two compulsory tests of 20 marks each) • End semester examination – 50 % (Minimum for pass: 18 out of 50)
