Pendulum is an Australian electronic rock/drum & bass band formed in 2002 in Perth. When first formed, their style was more drum and bass focused, but they later incorporated more alternative rock and electronic elements. Their studio albums are Hold Your Colour (2005), In Silico (2008), and Immersion (2010). In Silico represented a shift away from drum and bass and incorporated more rock influences. Immersion peaked at #1 on the UK album chart and featured the lead single "Watercolour" which reached #4 on the UK singles chart.
2. Pendulum are an Australian electronic rock/drum & bass
band founded in 2002 in Perth by Rob Swire, Gareth
McGrillen and Paul Harding.
When Pendulum were formed, their musical style was
considerably more drum and bass sounding, than the work
they are known for today. Signature tunes such as
"Masochist", "Vault", "Back 2 You" and "Voyager", which were
released on labels such as Uprising Records, Renegade
Hardware and Low Profile Records, have a darker, more a
melodic air to them which is substantially absent from their
later productions, which are generally leaning heavily
towards a mainstream, dance-driven sound.
Pendulum's current musical style consists of a fusion of
electronic and alternative rock, with the inclusion of acoustic
instruments.

5. Five singles were produced from the album, including "Slam / Out Here", the
first single by Pendulum to reach the top forty in the UK Singles Chart. In
addition, a non-album single , "Blood Sugar / Axle Grinder", released on 18
June 2007, was later appended to the reissue of Hold Your Colour due to its
popularity.
The album was mastered by Stuart Hawkes at Metropolis in London. It was
released in 2005 and reissued in 2007 by Breakbeat Kaos. The album cover
inspired the single cover for later Pendulum release "Witchcraft".
225,000 copies of Hold Your Colour were sold in the UK.
"Slam" was featured in the soundtrack for the video game MotorStorm on the
PlayStation 3 console, on Dance Dance Revolution Universe on the Xbox 360
console and on the premiere episode of Sky1’s Gladiators
6. In Silico is the second full-length studio album by
Australian band Pendulum, released in Australia
and Europe on 12 May 2008 by Warner Music
UK, and in America on 13 May 2008 by Atlantic.
The album represents a change in sound from
the band's debut album Hold Your Colour, away
from drum and bass, incorporating more rock
and electronic influences.
The expression "in silico", from which the album title is derived, is used to
mean "performed on computer or via computer simulation", however group
member Gareth McGrillen also commented on the way it plays upon
Nirvana's well-known album title In Utero (meaning "born naturally" or "of the
uterus") and thus carries extra shades of meaning related to being "born
synthetically",thus explaining the album's cover motif of a baby or fetus
displayed inside a circular design (likely representing a synthetic ovum), and
the circuits around the ovum clearly resembling sperm, which in turn
references the blend of natural and synthesised sounds of the music therein.
7. The album was announced in early 2009, with the name being
confirmed in December 2009. The album was released May 21, 2010
in Australia and Ireland, and May 24 for the rest of the world,
followed by a UK tour of the album.
The album was finished on 18 April 2010 and mastered by Brian
Gardner at Bernie Grundman Mastering Studios in Los Angeles.
Immersion peaked at number 1 in the UK Official Top 40 charts in its
first week of release.
"Watercolour” was released as the first single from the album on 1
May 2010. It managed to reach number 4 in the UK singles chart
