My media product is targeting a
male audience; this is because the
concepts that commonly arise from
my genre appeal to men more than
women. The age group that will by
my primary audience will be
between fourteen to twenty-one
years old. Therefore the hobbies that this
group will enjoy are typically
football, horror or thriller films that
crate feeling of suspense and
tension and also theme parks.
3. NATIONAL READERSHIP SURVEY
The National Readership
Survey gives a grade of its
readers from a demographic
classification. The different
demographics can be used
to show how different people
would buy different things.
Using this information I can
see that the audience of my
product are within the C2DE
category suggesting they are
skilled or low grade workers.
4. USES AND GRATIFICATIONS MODEL AND LIFESTYLE GROUPS
Using the Uses and gratifications model my media
product gratifies the audiences need for diversion as it
enables my audience to escape from reality and the
normality of other genres of films. The lifestyle group of
my audience are mainstreamers. This is because I am
aiming for a mass audience and the majority of people
come under the mainstreamer's category. These people
will therefore attend with their friends and increase the
revenue from my product.
5. SECONDARY AUDIENCE AND FINAL COMMENTS
The secondary audience that my product will be targeting
are the wider film community. These are the group who will
want to view my media product however are not specifically
devoted to the horror genre.
