 Kali Linux is a Debian-derived Linux
distribution designed for digital forensics and
penetration testing. It is maintained and
funded by Offensive Security Ltd. Mati
Aharoni, Devon Kearns and Raphaël Hertzog
are the core developers.

 Kali Linux was released on the 13th March,
2013 as a complete, top-to-bottom rebuild of
Backtrack Linux, adhering completely to
Debian development standards.

 Kali Linux is specifically tailored to the needs

assumes prior knowledge of, and familiarity
with, the Linux operating system in general.

 Security engineer mostly uses it but some
people uses it for haking.

 Kali is a Linux distribution specifically geared
towards professional penetration testing and
security auditing and as such, it is NOT a
recommended distribution for those
unfamiliar with Linux.
