1. Pick a person you have observed or had interactions with but don’t know well but who
has captured your attention. Using that person’s voice describe them and free

2. Free-Association: Start with a word and make as long a list of free associations as you
can in five minutes. (pg 40)
3. Take an existing photo of a person. Imagine who they are, ask questions, and develop
a story about their inner life.
4. Take five minutes and write a list of everything you’ve been under the influence of in
