The Cross-Device Research compared 4.9 billion social patterns across desktop web and 1.2 billion social patterns across mobile web.

Over the course of 30 days, ShareThis monitored 4.9 billion social signals on the
desktop web and mapped it out against 1.2 billion signals on the mobile web. We
examined the nuances in sharing behavior between various devices across the 2.4
million sites in the ShareThis network in an effort to better understand how these
behaviors differ from screen to screen:
On which devices are people more social?
How do people utilize social channels across their various devices?
What kinds of content do people share on desktop versus mobile?
When are people more social throughout the day on desktop versus mobile?
Which devices generate the most influential shares?

Sharing Activity on Mobile is Dominated by
Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest
Facebook accounts for 60% of sharing on mobile, and Pinterest is
nearly three times more represented on mobile than on desktop. Most
email sharing happens on the desktop but rarely on mobile.

iPhone Users Share More on Facebook, while iPad
Users Share More on Pinterest
Facebook represents 66% of total sharing on iPhones. However,
Pinterest is the dominating social channel on iPads with almost 50% of
sharing activity.
