- Good afternoon, my dear students! I am very happy to be here to share with you about the work that we are doing in INSA.
- INSA is the Institutional Network for Social Action (INSA), one of Miriam College’s advocacy centers and also, the school’s center for volunteerism and social development. INSA’s role is to develop and intensify volunteerism that is expertise-based and is linked with or contributing to social development. INSA acts as a “broker and mediator” in bringing into full-swing the wide range of MC expertise,services and resources to poor communities and marginalized groups.
- INSA puts its tasks into operation through three thematic programs: VFMP< SL & CPDPINSA’s programs are built on the principle that relevant education has at its core the values of service and solidarity with the poor.
- INSA promotes volunteering in Miriam College that is why we offer different volunteering programs in our school: INSA Student Volunteers: open to all MC students who are willing to volunteer in the advocacies and different activities of INSAMiriam Volunteer Mission: open to all MC graduates who are willing to work as full time volunteers from 6 months to 1 year Miriam Volunteer Mission-International- open to all qualified MC faculty, employees and graduate who are willing to work abroad as full time volunteersGurongLingkod – open to all MC faculty who are willing to serve as volunteers during the summer or weekends in the areas of community development or educational outreach. This also includes serving as volunteer teacher in our Miriam Adult Education (MAE), our vocational and technical night school for out of school youth who during the day work as house helpers, tricycle drivers or informal workers.
- Who are INSA volunteers? Students who are committed in promoting social justice through their involvement in the social action, outreach and advocacy projects of INSA, inside and outside of MC
- HOW DO YOU BECOME AN INSA VOLUNTEER? Year-round, students can drop by at the INSA to sign up to become an INSA volunteer. After signing up, their names and contact information are stored in a INSA volunteers database and their names are added in the Facebook account of INSA Volunteers, ready to be tapped for any volunteering event or activity.

- If you are not happy with how things are now in your world– whether that world is within the bounds of your family, friends, neighborhood, the community or our country, don’t wait for others to change. Be the change you want to see in the world.
- In behalf of the the Institutional Network for Social Action, I would like to personally invite all of you to become INSA Volunteers and join in our volunteer, outreach and social action activities.Here in Miriam College, social involvement is not a class requirement, not an extra-curricular activity, not an office duty, but rather, it is a way of life. AngisangKatipunera, naglilingkodsakapwa! To know more about INSA, drop by at our office at the back of Caritas Bldg, near Café Entrep. We also have a bulletin board in Caritas Bldg 2nd floor, opposite the SANGGU Office. Please don’t hesitate to approach us. If you are interested to join INSA now, I have sign up sheets here with me.
