Solution Let me draw the t-v diagram of water so we can able to identify the marked states (1) T= 400 C , P = 20 MPa so from the above graph we come to know that this state is in superheated state. For calculation of internal energy we have to use steam table in which we have to look for superheated steam. Since you have not uploaded table here, so please check your table in which superheated steam properties are given, we have to use that table for internal energy. (2) T = 120 C, V = 0.6 m3/kg, from the graph we come to know that this is the reason of saturated vapour, accordingly we have to use table and find the value of internal energy. (3) T = 40 C , P = 2 MPa, phase is compressed liquid water. In this way we have to idenify these phases. For internal energy calculation we have to make use of steam table. So please use appropriate table according to the given phase.
