3. History Of National Park
 1872, United States National Park System grown from a single
reservation. ( Yellowstone National Park )
 Embrace over 450 natural, historical, recreational and culture
areas.
 Idea credited to the artist named George Catlin.
On August 25 1916, President Woodrow Wilson created the
National Park Service.

• Originally named in 1939 as the King
George V Park.
• Rename as Taman Negara in 1957

• Rename as Acadia in 1929

• Comprises 4343 square
kilometers
• Maintains a natural habitat for a
variety of flora and fauna.
• Trees are hundreds of years old
and form a giant canopy.
• Oldest tropical rain forest.
• > 300 species of birds
• 10,000 plants, 150,000 insects,
25,000 invertebrates, 675 birds,
270 reptiles, 250 freshwater fish
and 200 mammal.
• 190 square kilometers
• Maintains a natural habitat for a
variety of flora and fauna.
• It contains of mountains , ocean,
lake, wetland, coastal and forest
• over 20% of Acadia National Park
is classified as wetland
