2. WHO WAS HE?
• Joan Miró was born on April 20, 1893
in Barcelona
• He was a Spanish painter who had
much success throughout France and
Spain
• He began painting classes at 7 years
old
• His painting style was surrealism
• Miro invited other painters and
artists to his home to experiement
with new ideas involving surrealism

3. HIS ARTWORK
• His work consisted of abstract forms,
shapes, floating body parts, and
distorted animals
• This was an art style known as
surrealism
• It involved fantasy and dream imagery
