2. Dear Colleague,
It is with great pleasure that I invite you to participate in
the upcoming Fast Jet Pilot Training Central and Eastern
Europe conference taking place on the 5th and 6th of
June in Prague.
Fast jet capabilities in the Central and Eastern European region are
becoming increasingly important, both as a viable aerial deterrence
and for potential integration in multinational combat missions abroad,
as part of larger coalition forces. As a result, cooperation and
interoperability in this area is essential.
Last year, we brought together over one hundred delegates to this high
level meeting, including senior military leaders, project decision makers
and subject matter experts and this year we are looking to build upon
its success. Alongside this, contractors and cutting edge industry
solution providers are invited to collaborate on future endeavours that
will enhance the security and stability of Central and Eastern Europe
and its neighbouring countries.
Both Major General Šebesta, Commander of the Czech Air Force and
I believe Fast Jet Pilot Training Central and Eastern Europe remains the
ideal environment for this collaboration. We are therefore lending our
support behind it as leading participants alongside many of our fellow
Czech Air Force Officers.
I would ask you to pay particular attention to our conference agenda
which has been put together with great care to give you the very
best opportunity to benchmark and learn from subject matter experts
relating to the enhancement of fast jet training capability.
Only through learning and networking with our peers can we enhance
and improve our ideas and execution of military projects, I urge you to
join us in June 2017 alongside many other likeminded leaders to ensure
you too can benefit from this unique forum.
Yours Sincerely,
Colonel Jaroslav Mika,
Chief A7 Branch and Chief of Combat Training,
Czech Air Force

Learning from the Successes and the Failures of a Modern Air Force:
A Guide to Effective Flight Training
Wednesday 7th June 2017, Andel’s Hotel, Prague, Czech Republic | 9.00 - 1.00
Hosted By Squadron Leader Tim Davies, Officer Commanding Standards and Instructor Training Hawk T2 Training, Royal Air Force
About the Workshop
There are numerous pitfalls that even the most advanced Air Forces can fall into when developing and
operating flight training systems. This valuable workshop aims to demonstrate to Air Force and training
commanders where, how and why issues in training can develop and how these can be avoided.
Benefits of attending
Drawing from his extensive experience of flight training and system management, Squadron Leader Tim
Davies can provide valuable support and advice to operational commanders looking to develop their
own training systems. Focusing primarily on where training systems can go wrong, participants in the
workshop will receive the invaluable experience of the RAF’s extensive successes in flight training, but
perhaps more importantly, its failures and how these were overcome and how they can be avoided.
About the leader
Squadron Leader Tim Davies is a public speaker, consultant and a fast jet flying instructor
in the Royal Air Force. He helps individuals and organisations use authenticity, empathy and
lessons from failure to create very real high-performance. After joining the Royal Navy in
1998 Davies then transferred to the Royal Air Force and has since served all over the world
and boasts over 2,500 flight hours, mostly instructional. He is currently a fast jet flying instructor
on the Hawk T2 in the RAF advanced fast jet training wing, teaching students and instructors,
not only how to fly fast jets, but also how to maximise their effectiveness and true ability. He also works
in a Capability Requirements role providing expert advice and support on how to sustain existing flying
training platforms as well as working on the introduction of three new aircraft into the UK Military Flying
Training System.
