Register for State/Local Tax Accounts Restaurateurs will also be responsible for California state taxes. To register for a business tax account and determine which taxes are collected for your business structure in California you can visit the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development online. Setup a Business Bank Account As a business owner, it’s important for you to have checking account that is separate from your personal checking account.
