QHow would you describe your leadership style?
A. My leadership style is multifaceted. Fundamentally, it is one
of trust, authenticity and respect. Giving employees some autonomy
in performing their work encourages them to think for themselves
and be creative in solving problems. Delegating tasks helps develop
employees and communicates I trust them and respect their skills. My
style is also one of openness and encouragement. Asking for input from
team members not only gives me a different perspective on an issue,
but it also encourages employees to think beyond their work. It builds
connections between team members. My style does not punish failures
but encourages learning from them. My style can also be directive
when not getting the work we need from an employee. Lastly, my style
is appreciative and light-hearted, acknowledging the successes and
milestones achieved by employees.

A. The ability to align people, process and strategy to create
high-performing teams that consistently drive company objectives.
Combining deep business acumen, innovative problem solving and a
visionary leadership style allows me to effectively translate the company
strategy and goals to employees, providing them with a line of sight from
their work to business outcomes which, in turn, energizes and engages them
to perform at their best, always keeping business outcomes in their sights.
QHow do you motivate people to perform at new levels?
A. I create an environment that engages employees and enables
them to achieve excellence. I believe employees are motivated when they
know their effort makes a difference. I communicate the organization’s
vision and goals, linking the goals of our team to those of the business. I
actively seek and value employee input, find different ways to appreciate
and inspire them, and make it a point to reward hard work. We work
together to learn from mistakes and apply that learning in their day to day
work. I also know that in order to bring out the best in others, I must set the
right example.
