What are the major responsibilities of the parent during
this phase? For example, safety to plan for, supervision,
and health priorities.
• parents must maintain discipline and control of
their children's behavior, whether at school or
away from school. The parental duty in this
regard includes direct responsibility for all
aspects of children's conduct and financial
liability for their misconduct or negligence.

What does parental or caregiver nurturing look like in this phase
of life? For example, teenagers may need someone who listens
and offers support. But toddlers need immediate feedback to
avoid danger, learn about their world, etc.
• A parental or caregiver can
nurture a high schooler by
listening to them if they have
any problems. Also you have to
make sure and look for signs of
depression and talk to them
face to face and be very
respectful to them.

What support will the parents or caregiver need during this phase
of life? How can they lean on extended family? What type of
support would be helpful? For example, parents of babies need
help to sleep, and parents of school-aged children might need
help with transportation.
• A parent can help the student with grades and maybe
if they are failing classes they can talk to them without
making the teen stressed or sad you can politely ask
and have a conversation. You can help them on with
whatever they need and help them grow and succeed
in life

What challenges will a
parent face during this
developmental stage?
• A parent might face been by them
selves a little bit more and might
be more worried about their
childs safety. The child might go
out with friends more often and
can now drive making the parent
more alone and stressed out

Do you feel the developmental
stage you chose is more or less
difficult than other stages? Why
do you think this way?
• I personally feel like is way less
difficult because the high schooler
is way more independent rather
than being a little child and the
high schooler might be getting
ready to move out to college and
friving.

What’s one piece of advice
you’d give to a parent of a
child in the stage you chose?
• One piece of advice I would give to a
highschoolers parent would be that its totally
ok to let your child be more independent and
its also very helpful later in life and you must
acknowledge the fact that they are almost
adults now
