R12 EBtax

1. Oracle E-Business Tax integration with Taxware:
Setups:
1. Create ‘Tax Regime’ from the Tax Manager responsibility.
1. Link the Tax regime to the ‘Legal Entity’ (or) Operating Unit for which you are
creating tax set ups.

2. Hit on Service Subscriptions – the following screen will appear.
2a)Link the Tax Regime to First party legal establishment.
1. Optionally, link the Tax Regime to ‘Taxware’ tax engine to use Taxware to
calculate taxes. If you don’t link Taxware here, Oracle will use EBTax engine to
calculate taxes by using the data provided by Taxware. You have to click on the
‘service subscription’ on the party subscription record to link ‘Taxware’ to it.

3. 4. Install ‘Taxware’ software. This task has to be done by DBA
5. Make sure if have the following patches in your system. If you don’t have them ,
apply them. Patch numbers: '6828524','6774565' and '6738536' and 6791481.
6. Download the tax content data file from Taxware and place it in a designated folder.
7. Run the Request set ‘E-Business Sales and Use tax Import program’ from tax
manager responsibility.
The first request in the request has three parameters:
a) the path where the taxware data contect file is placed
b) Taxware (Vertex, if you are using Vertex to get the tax data )
c) Tax Regime in which tax data has to be loaded.

4. This program will take an hour or so to load the tax data.
Upon successful completion of the sub requests, this program will create the following
setups automatically:
a. Creates ‘Taxes’
b. Creates ‘Tax Status’
c. Creates ‘Tax Jurisdicions’
d. Creates ‘Tax Rates’ for each Jurisdiction
e. Creates default ‘Tax Rules’
Make sure the ‘Tax Rule’ set up appears as below , after completion of the above
program.
8. Run the concurrent program’ Tax partner service plug-in’ with parameter as
‘Customized user procedure’ and ‘Legal entity’ for which tax data is loaded.
9. Run the concurrent program’ Tax partner service plug-in’ with parameter as
‘Customized user procedure’ and ‘Legal entity’ for which tax data is loaded.
10. Run the concurrent program’ Tax partner service plug-in’ with parameter as ‘Tax
Parnter service’ and ‘Taxware….’ .

5. 11. Set the following profile options at Site level.
eBTax Taxware: Service Indicator = Service
eBTax Taxware: Use Nexpro = Jurisdiction and Tax
eBTax Taxware: Read/Write Access to GCO Date = Yes
11. In the ‘Trading community Manager’ responsibility, set the validation mappings for
Tax and Geography for ‘State’, ‘County’ and ‘City’.
12. Upload the customers. Or Manually enter a few customers for testing.
13. Run the ‘Geo Name Referencing program’ with parameters as ‘HZ_locations’ and
country. Also specify the min and Max location_id form the hz_locations table
Run the same program again for the parameter ‘HR_locations’.
14. Test an AR invoice and click on Tax details to see if tax has calculated.
