1 SAFETY
1.1 Safety instructions
Risk of injury!
► Connect and operate the appliance only in
accordance with the specifications on the rating
plate.
► Repairs may be carried out by a qualified electrician
only!
► The user may be put at considerable risk and injured
by improper repairs!
► Electric shock may occur if live components are
touched inside the appliance!
► Do not touch components in the appliance. Even the
modules can be live!
► Before commencing repairs, ALWAYS disconnect
the appliance from the power supply!
► Components become hot during operation. Before
commencing repairs, leave the appliance to cool
down.
► If tests have to be conducted while the appliance is
live, ALWAYS use a residual-current-operated
circuit-breaker!
► The protective conductor connection must not
exceed the standardised values! This is essential for
personal safety and appliance function!
► When repairs are complete, perform a test in
accordance with VDE 0701/0702 or the
corresponding national regulations!

1.2 Repair instructions
► Comply with ESD information!
► NEVER attempt repairs by randomly replacing
components!
► ALWAYS proceed systematically and comply with
the technical documentation for the appliance!
► As a rule, electronic boards are not repaired but
are completely replaced with original spare parts.
Exceptions are documented separately.
► Following each repair, conduct a performance
test.

6 REPAIR
6.1 Tools
Required tools for disassembly:
• screw driver T15
• flat-bladed screwdriver
• pliers
6.2 Before disassembly
1. Remove dust bag.
2. Remove accessory.
3. Remove exhaust- / HEPA-filter.
4. Remove motor-protection filter.
6.3 Disassembly
1. Open lid of the dust-bag compartment.
2. Remove 4 screws T15 (arrows).
3. Open lid of the exhaust-filter.
4. Remove 2 screws T15 (arrows).

5. Put appliance on it side.
6. Remove rear wheels.
7. Unlock upper housing-part (Pfeile) and remove upper
housing-part.
8. Remove upper housing-part with cover.
9. Remove adapter (1) from spindle.
10. Unlock spindle carefully (2) and pull it carefully out of the
potentiometer of the control electronics(3).
11. Remove outer housing.
12. Unlock inner housing with a flat-bladed screwdriver (arrows).

13. Remove inner housing.
You can now access motor, electronics and cable reel.
6.4 Assembly
Proceed assembly in reverse order.
6.5 After assembly
1. Insert dust bag.
2. Insert accessory.
3. Insert exhaust-/HEPA-filter.
4. Insert motor-protection filter.

7 FAULT DIAGNOSTICS
7.1 General troubleshooting
Motor
Possible error: Cable is broken
check by connecting the motor directly to the mains
Cable reel
Possible error: Cable is broken
check for current flow
Electronics module
Possible error: defective
by process of elimination if no faults are found with the motor or
cable reel
7.2 Faulty resistor on motor electronics
Check motor electronics at any kind of repair.
7.2.1 Affected appliances
BSG82480/15 (from FD9006 to FD9008)
7.2.2 Symptom
Resistor R6 has not the specified value of 220 Ω.
The correct color coding of R6 ( with 220 Ω) is:
1st
ring = red 2nd ring = red 3rd
ring = brown
7.2.3 Solution
Exchange of motor electronics.

7.3 Overheating protection is missing
7.3.1 Affected appliances

7.3.2 Symtom
Electronics module does not contain overheating protection and
overheating protection mount.
7.3.3 Solution
The overheating protection is not missing!
Overheating protection has been omitted and is no longer required
due to engineering changes. Overheating protection is also no longer
described in the user’s manual.
7.4 Sealing of dustbox is not in correct position
7.4.1 Affected appliances
All “bag & bagless” appliances with dustbox 670676.
7.4.2 Symptom
Sealing at the inlet of the dustbox is not in the correct position and
does not seal properly.
7.4.3 Solution
Mount sealing with glue (suitable for rubber and plastic) on the
dustbox.
