FASTag is an electronic toll collection system that allows for automatic deduction of toll charges from a prepaid account linked to the RFID tag affixed to vehicles. The National Highways Authority of India, National Payments Corporation of India, and select banks are implementing the FASTag program at over 425 toll plazas across India. Customers can avail a 10% cashback on toll payments using FASTag in fiscal year 2016-17. FASTag accounts require an initial fee of Rs. 200 and can be recharged online or through cash for a minimum of Rs. 100.
2. About FASTag
FASTag is a reloadable tag which enables automatic deduction of toll charges and
allow the user to pass through the toll plaza without stopping for the cash
transaction. FASTag is linked to a prepaid account from which the applicable toll
amount is deducted. The tag employs Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
technology and is affixed on the vehicle's windscreen after the tag account is
activated.
3. Who is implementing this program?
Indian Highways Management Company Limited IHMCL (a company incorporated
by National Highways Authority of India) and National Payment Corporation of
India (NPCI) are implementing this program with help from Toll Plaza
Concessionaires, FASTag Issuer Agencies and Toll Transaction Acquirer (select
banks).
4. On which highways / roads FASTag can be used?
FASTag is presently operational at 425+ toll plazas across National Highways.

There are five NHAI toll in Jharkhand.
1. Ghanghri (Gorhar - Barwa Adda)

5. Discount on Toll payments using FASTag
Customer can avail a cashback of 10% on all Toll payments using FASTag in FY 2016-
17. The cashback amount for a particular month will be credited back to your
FASTag account within a week of the subsequent month.
6. Charges for FASTag
• FASTag has a one time Fee of ₹ 200.
• FastTag account can be recharge by making payment through cheque or online
through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ NEFT/ RTGS or through Net Banking.
• FASTag account can be recharged minimum to Rs. 100 and maximum upto Rs.
1,00,000
7. Paying the toll
Issuer Agency will electronically deduct the applicable toll fee from the customer’s
account linked to the FASTag. This deduction will be done post the toll transaction.
The customer needs to adequately fund the account which is linked to FASTag. This
recharge process may be termed as top-up.
8. Toll deduction SMS alert
Customer will receive an SMS alert in your registered phone number each time an
amount is deducted from your FASTag account. Fee payable on each toll plaza may
be seen on www.nhtis.org in addition to displayed at concerned toll plazas.

13. User fee transfer
User fee deducted from customers account and will be transferred to ATBCL bank
account via CSCs (common service centres).
Bank of Baroda is registered as partner of CSCs.
FASTag through CSCs
CSC SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) has partnered with NHAI to dispense FASTag
through the network of CSCs. VLEs will dispense FASTag at the toll plazas after
procuring them through the Digital Seva Portal register customer details on portal
and affix the tag on the car.
