1. Hold Hands Chicago Hold Hands Chicago Innovation and Change Connections from Classroom to Careers for our Urban Youth
2. Perspective There is no road to follow without a destination. Many of our inner city students have not had the exposure to companies and careers that connect success in school to their future. Lack of motivation and hope make it extremely challenging for educators who want to make a difference. Hold Hands Chicago will “level the playing field” for our disadvantaged youth by creating connections that can & will change their lives.
3. Hold Hands Chicago The mission of Hold Hands Chicago (HHC) is to engage student in learning that leads to higher aspirations and productive careers in the 21st Century. HHC coordinates visits for our students to companies, agencies and institutions that represent a wide variety of potential educational and career opportunities.
4. What is Hold Hands Chicago? The off-site visits are provided in combination with online student projects aligned to CPS curriculum with professional development support for each school. Hold Hands Chicago Partners offer mentoring and visits to schools creating business projects and partnerships that will lead to sponsorship, internships and jobs for our students.
5. “Let Me Introduce Myself” Hold Hands Chicago provides an introduction and creates relationships between adults and students who, without our service, would never meet. Many companies, corporations, and individuals want to become part of a solution to the drop-out rate and violence in CPS. Hold Hands Chicago is vehicle for change.
7. Hold Hands Chicago provides new opportunities for our students and “connects students and adults” providing mentoring support. Today’s digital generation will access adult mentors through online mentoring via the Hold Hands Chicago website. Innovation + Technology= Success
