Early growth Response Protein 2 (Egfr2) is encoded bt the EGR2 gene. It is a transcription regulatory factor and contains two zinc finger binding sites, it is highly expressed in migrating neural crest cells. Mutations in this gene are associated with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (type 1D), Dejerine-Scottas disease and Congenital Hypomyelinating Neuropathy.
