2. Introduction.
Hello Japanese students. In this work we are
going to show you some of the most
representative landscapes and climates of our
country. That is why we are going to divide it
into two parts:
-Landscapes.
-Climates.
3. Landscapes.
• Spain is a country
with a very big
variety of
landscapes, but it is
mostly mountainous,
its medium height is
650 m.
• Iberian Peninsula
4. Northern part.
• This part is charasteristic because of its
exuberant vegetation. It is a mountainous zone
with short and flowing rivers, like Miño, Bidasoa,
Nervión and Ebro(its main features belong to the
northern Spanish rivers).
5. Eastern part.
•
• Its more popular part is the coast. It has big
beaches with sand, only delimitated in located
zones. Its rivers are short, and they become dry
in the summer. Some examples are: Júcar or
Segura.
6. Central part.
It is a big plateau divided by two
mountain ranges called Iberian Range
and Central System. If you travel into
this zone you will find vast dry
grasslands, only crossed by large
rivers like Duero or Tajo. It is in this
place where the Don Quixote´s story
develops.
7. Southern part.
• We can divide it into two parts, the
Mediterranean and the Atlantic part. We can find
a characteristic landscape called Coto de
Doñana. It´s in the mouth of the River
Guadalquivir, and here the fresh and salt water
mixes into each other in the coast. The
Mediterranean part has small beaches and
rivers that become dry in summer.
8. Climates
• Every zone named
previously has a different
type of climate, and its
features depends of it.
Those are the climates:
-Mediterranean (orange).
-Continental (light green).
-Oceanic (dark green).
-Desertic (grey).
-Mountainous (blue).
-Subtropical (purple).
9. Oceanic
The Oceanic climate is rainy, and
mostly cold during all the year.
That is why in this zone there are flowing
rivers and abundant vegetation. It is
located in the northern part.
10. Continental
• The Continental climate is dry, hot in summer
and cold in winter. The rivers are very irregular,
and in spring increase a lot, because of the
snow melt.
It is placed in the central part. The main
vegetation are bush.
11. Mediterranean
• That climate has temperate winters and hot
summers. The rains only appear at autumn and
spring. And because of this, the rivers are
irregular, and mainly not very wide. It is in the
southern and the eastern part.
12. Desertic
• It doesn't rain in most of the year, and the
temperatures increase in the day and become
colder at night, but it hasn´t got seasons. There
isn´t many vegetation or rivers. It is
characteristic in the southern and eastern,
actually it is only in specific areas, but it is
becoming bigger.
13. Mountainous
This is only located in places that are over
400m high. The climate is cold all the year, and
in the highest zones there aren´t animals or
vegetation. There aren´t many precipitations,
and it normaly snows.
14. Subtropical
It is the climate typical from the Canary
Islands. The climate is very similar to the
tropical, with abundant rains and high
temperatures, but the rains are more centralised
for seasons.
