Nǐ shì xuéshēng ma?
Are you a student?
我是学生。 你呢？
Wǒ shì xuéshēng. Nǐ ne?
I am a student, how about you?

4. 他也是学生吗？
Tā yěshì xuéshēng ma?
Is he a student?
不,他不是学生。
Bù , tā búshì xuéshēng.
No, he is not student.

5. Sentence with shì 是
他是老师.
Tā shì lǎoshī.
He is a teacher.
他不是老师.
Tā búshì lǎoshī.
He is not a teacher.
不bú + Verb => negative sentence

6. Forming Questions with 吗 ma
你是老师.
Nǐ shì lǎoshī.
You are a teacher.
你是老师吗？
Nǐ shì lǎoshì ma?
Are you a teacher?

7. Forming Questions with ne 呢
我是学生，你呢？
Wǒ shì xuéshēng, nǐ ne?
I am a student, and how about you?

8. The Adverb 也 yě
我是老师， 他也是老师.
Wǒ shì lǎoshī , tā yěshì lǎoshī.
I am a teacher, he is also a teacher.
