Nebraska is one of the leading farming states. It is call the Cornhusker State because corn is its most important crop. The nickname also comes from the cornhusking contests that were once held each fall. Lincoln is the capital and second largest city of Nebraska. Many colleges and universities are located in Lincoln. Omaha, Nebraska’s largest city, is a leading producer of frozen foods. It lies on the state’s eastern border, along the Missouri River.
