But those are rare. • A more common and less known fact is that being both a good football player and a good student can get you admitted to many top colleges. • A good, not great, football player who is also a good student, will typically have his application rise to the top of the list of most Division III colleges he approaches. That list includes: MIT

  8. 8. Why was the FCCFA created? The FCCFA was created with the goal of promoting to the City of Falls Church, participation in youth football and to develop a community connection with George Mason H.S. Football. George Mason High School Football is the most successful football program in the Falls Church/Arlington area over the last 13 years.  Under the present coaching staff, they have enjoyed consistent success.  A constant challenge, however, is the lack of a steady flow of players with prior youth football experience. With every new class the team has been starting at square one... ...we want to change that!
  9. 9. The FCCFA’s Mission To teach the youth of Falls Church City a love for the game of football. To provide George Mason High School with a consistent group of prepared players.
  10. 10. George Mason Football history: • From ’93 to ‘97 GMHS had won only 3 games —Since then, we’ve won 2 district championships —Made 3 Region B playoff appearances. • In the past 10 years GMHS has played: —Northern Region schools —WCAC schools —Group AA State Champion Broad Run —3 Group A Champions
  11. 11. George Mason Football facts: • We field 30 Varsity and 30 JV players each year • We only have 12-15 players per grade to pull from • We are the smallest public school in NoVA to schedule and compete against larger schools with strong football traditions. • Our Group A competition comes from rural areas with strong youth football feeder programs dedicated solely to one high school
  12. 12. George Mason Football future: • Success is tied directly to the number of players with youth football experience!
