Primary research – Video-related
questions on surveymonkey.com &
            conclusion
Questions on surveymonkey.com
                 • I had to make a free account on
surveymonkey.com to create this survey, which
was quite an easy task. I decided in using
surveymonkey.com as it is a quick, easy and
                     efficient method.
                 • An advantage is that this website creates the
results table to analyze your results and also
gives the percentages. The layout of the results is
very simple and easy to understand.
                 • Here is a snapshot of my survey I made using a
                     website, surveymonkey.com
                 • These questions are all related to my DIY video
tutorial on turning plain plimsolls into
                     new, fashionable pairs.
                 • I will leave this for a day to gather all my results.
                 • I will then analyze these results to see what type
of design was most desired by my respondents
                     and why.
                 • This is important as a part of my research in
finding out what kind of design is considered
trendy and fashionable by the current
teens, because then I can apply these results onto
my plimsolls fulfilling my client’s request.
Client contact about my
                        questionnaire
• I sent my client a copy of the questions on • My client said that the results
my survey and asked if they were relevant. from my respondents should be
• She said: in the age range between 15 to
18 years old, and on my
                                                      survey, I gave respondents a
choice of choosing one of these
ages, therefore it shows that I
am right on track and I should
                                                      continue to proceed with my
                                                      survey analysis.
                                                  • She also mentioned that I had to
                                                      make my plimsolls design with
                                                      materials that are affordable by
                                                      teenagers, therefore I will have
to keep this in mind when I
                                                      gather materials to make my
                                                      product.
Results: Question 1

          • The results to this questionnaire
shows that most of my respondent’s
              are 15 years old.
          • This is probably because I asked my
friends (majority 15 yrs old) to fill in
this questionnaire form, as they were
fashionable teenagers who fit in the
right age category of the video’s
              target audience.
Results: Question 2

          • This question shows that 92.86%, which
are 13 people out of 14, thought the
concept of a DIY video tutorial in
              turning plain plimsolls into
              new, fashionable pairs was interesting.
          • There was one response in saying that it
was boring, however this will be counted
as an anomaly as this result was the odd
              one out.
Results: Question 3
        • Majority of my respondents to this question
said they would like to see a DIY video
tutorial on how to make galaxy plimsolls.
        • 8 out of 14 people (which is 57.14%) said they
            would like Galaxy plimsolls.
        • People who voted for the Galaxy-designed
plimsolls said they wanted this design because
they look “amazing”,, “attractive”, it is the
“latest fashion item everyone must get hold
of”, they are “in the current trend” and finally
because “there are no shoe brand/companies
or online websites … do not sell a pair of
            galaxy shoes”
        • There were other designs mentioned such as
the Union Jack designed shoes, where people
made comments of how the actual Union Jack
shoes sold in the market are quite expensive.
14.29%, which is 2 out of 14 people said they
            wanted this design.
Results: Question 4
       • 11 out of 14 people, which is 78.57% said they would like
the design of the shoe to be done with acrylic paint.
       • Acrylic paint is paint that turns into plastic once it is dried
therefore it will not wash off when it comes in contact with
           water (unlike watercolour paint)
       • Also acrylic paint is a material that is cheap and easy to get
hold of, therefore this is more convenient for the viewers
as they are teenagers with a budget on how much they can
           spend.
       • Other responses were made such as making the design
with fabric, however these responses were for the Union
Jack designed shoes, because Galaxy shoes cannot be
make with fabric – they need a fading effect that only
           acrylic paint/spray paint can do.
Results: Question 5

          • This question allowed multiple
              choices, therefore the respondents were
able to pick more than one.
          • These results show that Glitter (57.14%)
and Rhinestones (50%) had a pretty
close vote with the difference of 7.14%
          • Due to this result, I will include a step in
my video tutorial of incorporating both
of these additional accessories – Glitter
and Rhinestones, to make the pair of
              plimsolls look more attractive.
Results: Question 6

         • This question seemed a bit off direction as it
said “where” would you were these
plimsolls, therefore some of my respondents
might not have understood the question as
             they replied “outside”
         • However, the people who did understand the
question replied: when they “hang out with
friends”, when they “go shopping” and
“daily”. There was even a response saying
“ALL THE TIME” – this could show how
much they love the idea of a DIY video
tutorial, and they are looking forward to it so
that they can actually make the product.
Conclusion to survey results
• In conclusion to my results from surveymonkey.com, I
have come to a final decision that I will be making my
    plimsolls:
• Aimed towards teenagers, ranging from 15 to 18 years
    old
• With a “galaxy” design
• Using acrylic paint, as they are cheap and affordable
within the teenager’s budget (client and respondent’s
request), but also effective because the do not wash
    off after dried
• Including the use of additional accessories such as
glitter and accessories to make them look even more
    attractive
• For daily use, as a pair of shoes that can be worn
anytime, e.g. when hanging out with friends, shopping
    etc

• I confirmed my final decision with Koharu and this is
    what she said:
