The Rapid Response group at EOL produces species pages for special projects to provide science and content-based public relations. These projects account for a small fraction of EOL's overall content but aim to make specific, high-quality information available when needed. Some past Rapid Response projects include producing pages for Galatee Films' Oceans documentaries, the Smithsonian Oceans portal, a National Geographic Society BioBlitz at Biscayne National Park, the Smithsonian Magazine's "Wild Things" monthly feature, and the National Museum of Natural History's "Species of the Day."
