Keyword Search in Windchill PLM
 You will now learn a useful tip on the keyword
search capabilities of Windchill and we will
explain how the product information is
indexed (or parsed) into keywords
 The information stored in Windchill is indexed
word by word including names, description of
the part/document, attributes pertaining to the
part/document, and the document contents,
and identifies each word that is separated by
spaces or punctuation as a keyword.
 For example, all the information you see on a
Document or Part Information page is indexed
word by word.

Keyword Search in Windchill PLM
 When you don’t know the specific target item
you’re looking for, keyword search can save
you time in finding information or occurrences
of information.
 Keyword searching includes the use of
wildcards as follows:
 @ - Matches exactly one alphabetic
character (Ex: golf c@rt)
 # - Matches exactly one numeric
character (Ex: 100#26)
 - This is an escape sequence. It
indicates that the next character is not an
operator and should be taken literally (Ex:
support@companyname.com)
