4. Audiomagnetotellurica
• E’ un metodo di misura passivo delle correnti magnetotelluriche del sottosuolo
• Richiede spazi ridotti per il posizionamento dei dipoli magnetici e di corrente
(mediamente 25 o 50 m)
• Restituisce profili 1D del parametro resistività elettrica (assimilabili a Sondaggi
Elettrici Verticali) e sezioni pseudo‐tomografiche 2D
• Può raggiungere (con buona risoluzione) profondità fino a 600‐800 m
• Richiede una precisa calibrazione per la valutazione della profondità

17. Considerazioni conclusive
• La crescente domanda di acqua sotterranea per usi potabili e irrigui,
assieme alla necessità di una corretta gestione e salvaguardia degli
acquiferi, richiede una conoscenza sempre più approfondita delle
strutture idrogeologiche.
• In tale contesto, la diagnostica geofisica per immagini (geophysical
imaging) rappresenta uno strumento insostituibile per la valutazione
di giacimenti idrici profondi attraverso la modellazione geologica e
idrogeologica del sottosuolo.
• L’utilizzo combinato del metodo geoelettrico tomografico e del
metodo (audio)magnetotellurico permette di raggiungere elevate
profondità e una precisa discretizzazione geometrica e fisica del
sottosuolo
