The Nazi Party considered the youth of Germany as an important component for the future. Adolf
Hitler, the leader of the Nationalist Socialist German Worker's Party (Nazi Party) wrote in his
autobiography Mein Kamp (My Struggle), "whoever has the youth has the future" . Hitler
considered the Germany's youth and the treatment of the youth to be an imperative aspect to
guarantee a secure future for Germany and Nazi party and he aimed to create a nation dedicated to

Back in the 1930s Germany really depended on their youth. They were putting so much effort to it
so that they could change the future and achieve their goals. They really cared so much about the
nazi youth that they made propaganda on it and they controlled the school system just to "help" the
youth become better people. During the times that Germany had become against jews, many german
children had decided to make more than a couple of groups that rebelled against the nazi party each
in their own way. Take the swing kids for example they instead of listening to the nazi music that
everyone had to listen you they listened to american jazz music, they didn't use any kind of
violence, but yes that was some way of rebelling. Instead of listening to the Nazi music they

major one was Edelweiss pirates. These children would resist the nazi party, they were more of a
boys and girls scout than the other group because of their openness to both genders and because of

Hitler Youth Herbert Norkus was one of many kids in the Hitler Youth program, but later in the
program he was attacked by Reds and stabbed six times until he died."The opposite of love is not
hate, it's indifference" (Elie Wiesel). From the 1920's onward the Nazis targeted young to shape the
future of the Nazi Party. Hitler's influencers were so strong that within a short amount of time Hitler
had converted an entire generation of kids to hate a certain group of people. Hitler Youth was a
program that Hitler thought would shape the next generation. They were lured in by the Nazis
saying that it would make them men. Another way that they lured them in is when they would go on

The training for the boys was different from the girls. The boys were being trained for pistol
shooting, grenade throwing, trench digging, and map reading, but these are only a few things
they were trained to do. The women were trained to be prepared for childbirth, to throw a ball 12
meters, complete a two hour march, swim 100 meters and know how to make a bed. It's more
cardio while the boys are trained in more fighting and self defense. By 1938 the attendance was at
twenty five percent low, that Hitler passed the law that force them to show up ("The Hitler Youth").
Around 1935, every other youth group was eliminated in Germany so they would, "Fall under the
spell of national socialism", in Hitler's words. Except Hitler was not the leader of the group, the
leader was a man named Baldur Von Schirach, at just 26 years old he controlled the minds of a
youth empire from 1931 to 1940 (Campbell 42).
The Hitler youth program was one of the largest and most widespread youth programs in the world.
From July 4, 1926 to 1945 Hitler was in the minds of an entire generation, when the allied forces
