My Identity Essay
My Identity What is my identity? I think my identity at the moment is Mexican, 15 years old, a
student, and more. I am still trying to figure out more things of my identity at the moment. For
right now these are some of my identity and things that mean a lot to me. As I said before I am
mexican. Most of my family was born and raised in Sinaloa, Mexico. They were born in a ranch
called "La Quebrada de Los Sandovales". Last year I got to go there for the first time. It looks
really old but the river is so beautiful. I loved how the people there knew each other. Since I was
born my mom made me believe in the virgen de guadalupe. She is the mother of Jesus Christ.
Mostly every year On December 12 my family and me go to church to celebrate her. They bring
music to sing to her. It is always beautiful. On this day we also celebrate my birthday. I am so
grateful to be born on this day. As I was saying in the second paragraph, since my parents are
mexican they taught me spanish. Being bilingual for me is so important because I get to help
others. At school there are times are a lot of times I make new friends just by translating things
for them. I am glad I am latina because I know that it will help me in the future some way. There
are some things I like doing with others which are movies and sports. I have always liked watching
movies. I don't really mind what kind of movie it is. I like fantasy movies the best or non–fiction
because it is mostly of the time it is filled with

Describe My Identity
Everyone in society has different identities that helps describe who they are. We all have different
roles that make us unique and are influenced by occurrences that happen within the home and the
environment. Some of our identities can make us stronger individuals or weaken us by being
judged. My identities, however, have made me a much stronger person to achieve goals, wishes,
and successes. In this paper I will go more in detail on how my identities made me become more
thankful of where I come from and how my experiences from childhood to now shaped who I am.
My culture has formed my understanding of how important the values and traditions done at home
should not be forgotten. My generational status really has influenced my decision on the
effectiveness of school and efforts to do well. My immigration status has really shaped my
experiences specifically at home to be appreciative of what I have. I chose these three identities
because they strongly define who I am as a human being. For this reason, the three identities that I
will be describing are my culture, generational status, and immigration status.
My culture, being a Chicana, has made me realize how all the traditions my family have done has
really reflected my identity in my values and morals. Usborne and de la SablonniГЁre (2014)
defined culture as the establishment of building relationships with members of a particular group
and exploring the different artifacts, words, and symbols expressed within those groups.

My Identity
We all have unique talents and interests, and it is essential for each one of us to determine our own
true identity and talents. My math and problem–solving skills define an essential part of my identity.
This is where I excel, and I am told that I have a unique way of explaining it to others.
All of us use math every day, whether we realize it or not. Teens use math when they pay money at
ticket counter; doctors calculate the amount of medicine to give to patients; and even mom
measures the amount of water she uses before cooking a cup of rice. Math is not a subject for the
Elite, but a basic staple in our lives. It doesn't involve lots of reading; it is very straightforward – just
understand the basic concepts and keep building on them until you find an answer.

One time she gave me an opportunity to work through a geometry problem on the Smart Board.
My classmates understood my steps very easily, and the way I explained the concepts made sense
to them. The whole class praised me that day, and I felt great, and those ten minutes encouraged
me further. From then on, whenever classmates needed help, they asked for me to go and explain
it on the board. Needless to say, it did not surprise anyone when I volunteered to tutor in algebra
during at the nearby middle school, or when I became a member of the UIL Calculator
Applications team at my school, or when we went all the way to regionals and won the local school
competition. Recognizing my skill and dedication, my calculus teacher gave me the opportunity to
be captain of the team and lead the club this year. I am hoping to take the team to state this year. In
addition, I have started working as a math–grader/instructor at my local Kumon, where I was a
student before. Math now shapes my education, my hobbies, and my work outside of

My Identity Essay
Half of my identity revolves around my race and culture. The first impression people have about
my race is that I am white, but I quickly break that single story they may have of my race when I
say that I am Mexican. Mexico is where my father was born and my mother was born here, but
her parents as well were born in Mexico. My culture is revolved around Mexican traditions. Being
Mexican isn't just my race, it also has a vast influence on the way I talk, my manners, and how I
carry myself. Mexico symbolizes countless parts of who I am and the first word that pops up in
my head to describe it is tranquility. Every time I am there for vacations or family visits as soon
as I step foot out of the plane I'm instantly happier and calmer. My family and I are Christian and
all of us have been brought up to follow the christian ways and to attend church. This affects my
everyday life as long as I am told to pray every morning and night and every family gathering,
praying is always involved, so our family is unquestionably religious. The number 15 isn't just my
age, it's part of my culture as well. When the girls in my culture turn 15 everyone takes is serious
since it's the age girls become women, therefore families throw a tremendous party to celebrate.
There are countless people that I love, but I have narrowed it down to write about my family,
friends, nephews, and my dog. Now usually people don't consider their pet people, but I consider
my own dog my child through my eyes

My Identity Essays
Over the course of my life I have had many life experiences which have made me who I am today.
When I was in my middle childhood, most of my life revolved around playing and having fun. I
did not have to put forth effort in hardly any area of my life or work hard in order to achieve
specific goals. As time went on however, my own life experiences began to have an effect on me,
and shape the person I am today. My life started to change the most during middle childhood when
I was around the age of seven years old. At this point in my life, I had to adjust to several big
changes. Our family was moving from our old house in the county into a new house in the city. We
had to do this, because my mom had just given birth to my younger...show more content...
As I went through elementary school I was not treated kindly by a large majority of my class. I
was often the one singled out by others and excluded from activities. I am sure this has had an
effect on my personality. Although I feel Erikson's psychosocial theory is correct, I believe it can be
changed over time. At a young age, life experiences can play a large role in the shaping of a person's
self–confidence and self–esteem. Even though an individual's past might not have been pleasant, as
they get older they are able to gain awareness of past events and decide which ones will continue
to have an effect on their lives (University of Illinois, 2013). The only year in elementary school I
enjoyed was fifth grade. This school year was full of encouragement and kindness from my
teachers. Their constant motivation and kind words gave me the confidence to improve my grades
in school and interact more with my classmates. After fifth grade, my entire class and I left our old
school, and relocated to the middle school. This change was not the easiest for me either. While
elementary school was a tame and controlled environment, middle school gave students more
freedom and was less strict on students. During middle school it was difficult for me to find a social
reference group to associate myself

Finding My Identity Essay
Having an identity and finding yourself isn't always the easiest task to do, luckily I think I've found
myself and I'm proud with the way I am and carry myself. Now, most people might not think that my
outlook is the best way to go through life but fortunately I don't care what people think of me.
I like standing out and being different but not in a very noticeable way; I am a regular guy, I'm
weird, random, odd and extraordinary and I've really embraced the fact that I'm pretty apathetic. I've
become this individual that really doesn't care about any outside opinions; as long as I feel
comfortable with myself and what I'm doing, everything's okay. I'll listen to your thoughts but I
won't pay much attention to it afterwards.
My way of...show more content...
I'm not really a religious person, my family is Catholic and although I do go to church every now
and then, I don't consider myself to be devoted to a higher power. I don't even believe we will all
be judged when we die and let into a nice place called heaven. I think that whenever a person dies
they're just reborn in a hospital somewhere in the world, I don't know where I picked up this idea
but it seems about right to me.
Education is a very important factor in the lives of many people but, personally, I think everyone
in the world should rely on their basic instincts. When teachers try to get through to me, I think
that blocks them out. I learn better and get a good grasp on things when there's no one around. I
can concentrate better and get the work that needs to be done finished. Work should be handed to
each person equally because everybody needs money. Everybody should be given a shot at a job
without being judged on their appearance or their way of life.
In my life, I haven't accomplished a lot except I passed the CAHSEE on my first try, if you can
count that as an accomplishment. Right now I am set on getting my high school diploma because
even though people should use their natural instincts, I think I'll really need a diploma to have a
better life.
In conclusion, the way I live my life is very particular, I don't give much attention to anyone and I
don't like to receive much

My Personal Identity Essay
A person's identity is shaped by many different aspects. Family, culture, friends, personal interests
and surrounding environments are all factors that tend to help shape a person's identity. Some
factors may have more of an influence than others and some may not have any influence at all. As a
person grows up in a family, they are influenced by many aspects of their life. Family and culture
may influence a person's sense of responsibilities, ethics and morals, tastes in music, humor and
sports, and many other aspects of life. Friends and surrounding environments may influence a
person's taste in clothing, music, speech, and social activities. Personal interests are what truly set
individuals apart. An individual is not a puppet...show more content...
Society has had a limited impact on my lifestyle, mostly because I despise trends. The largest trends
I despise are rap and hip–hop and the clothing, attitudes, and type of speech that that type of 'music'
is breeding. I chose to steer away from that crowd, but it may also be because I live my life off of
adrenaline. My high on life is the energy I have when I get my blood pumping, my heart
pounding, and my adrenaline raging. Most aspects of my individuality reflect that very well. I
love hard, aggressive music, and also guns, but my passion in life is extreme sports, whether it be
on a dirt bike, a bmx bike, a snowmobile, or a snowboard. I have a strong set of morals and ethics
that I have partly adopted from my parents, but some are also partly my own. My morals mostly
consist of karma (being kind, caring, helpful, truthful, and considerate to others), not littering
(especially in nature), respecting nature, keeping a clean and welcoming home, success that is
measured with happiness and not possessions, and having strong family ties. I feel that I am very
strongly rounded individual who is going to go far in life. Many people would agree with that,
although some people just think that I am an absolutely crazy person who has a death wish and will
not go anywhere but to the hospital or the morgue. Educational experiences also tend to influence a
person's identity. I have not had too many educational

Essay On My Identity
My Identity
Identity, we all have one and we are all different. My identity consists of being hardworking,
intelligent, and athletic . These traits have all helped change my life for the better. This essay will
cover the main ways these traits have affected my life.
On June 26 2000, I was born into a loving middle class family who always worked hard to make
sure they provided for essential needs and more for me and siblings. I grew up in an environment
with parents who showed us, through their example, the importance of a strong work ethic. I have
been able to do many things such as building sheds, getting jobs, and fixing broken computer
because of my identity. My identity as a hard working individual has lead me down the path of

I credit my intellectual enlightening to my second grade homeroom teacher Mrs.Jackson and my
father who both taught me to alway try harder then I believe I can in school. My intelligence is
something I have achieved over an extended period of time. I work hard everyday to become
more intelligent than I am by doing things such as reading, studying harder than I should , getting
all my work done on time, and paying attention in every class. My goal as a student is to gain as a
much knowledge as I can so I can succeed in the future. I have found that my intellectual abilities
have brought me to be able to create video games, make music, and create films. I learned all
these very quickly at my first high school The Cleveland High School Of Digital Arts. My role as
a worker also involves my intelligence trait. I need to know how to do many things such as
knowing how to direct myself to homes of my customers, knowing how to give correct change, and
knowing how to keep a continuous routine when answering phones. These action all require my
intelligence traits due to the fact that if I wasn't intelligence I would not be able to to have the job
that I currently have because I would constantly be doing actions such as making pizza, delivering
pizza, giving correct change, and calculating my tips at the end of every shift. My intellectual ability
has helped me with more stuff in my life, but in

My Identity
Every year I look back on the previous and I see how much I have changed. I see the friends I have
gained and lost. The heartbreak and the happiness. Despite how rough times have gotten, it has truly
made me stronger. Everything has shaped who I am today, it has shaped my identity. Identity is a
complex topic because it consists of changeable and unchangeable traits and outside internal
influences; my own identity has been shaped by going from private to public school, young life
camp, and my current friends. On graduation day 2014, I would leave the only people I have
known for nine years. Although all I knew were these people, I was more than happy to leave this
small private school and have a change for once. Here at St. Mark Catholic School we only got
one new person a year if that even happened. If you were new everyone judged everything about
you to find out who you really were. As Jennifer Ouellette author of "Tokens and Totems" says, "We
all make snap judgements when we meet new people, relying on certain cues to make assessments,
and those judgements often can be accurate, at least in broad strokes" (23). We called the people
who have been attending the school since kindergarten the "originals." Since the "originals" have all
grown up together, everything in your life that happened, they knew it. Not only that is if they did
not get their way, they would use anything bad that happened in your life against you. If something
had made you different they used that to

My Identity Essay
My identity has been formed over the course of my life, especially throughout my pre–teen years, in
2012, when my parents decided to split, and my mother went off to live with in Bristol. I have
become a completely different person from when I was ten years old, because of the people in my
life, such as my teachers, my parents, and my friends. I feel as though I have become a more
well–rounded person, because of my experiences. пЊ‘ I have become more caring and receptive
because of my mother My mother has helped me to understand myself, and to develop my
characteristics because we have spent the majority of our lives together. One specific example
would be in 2015, during an excursion to The Gower Peninsula in Wales, when, over a bonfire,
we conversed about my father, and the subject of my conception came up. My mother told me
that I was a mistake, because she was worried that she wouldn't be an adequate mother, and tried
abortion. This impacted me considerably, and it has made me live more in the moment because
anything can happen, I didn't feel like I was a mistake, or a failure or any of those labels, but I did
realize that my time is limited, and I have to make the most of it. Another example is that during the
initial split, my mother lived 5 minutes away from my house, and I would regularly make
unscheduled visits to her apartment, and just talk to her. I comforted my mother, and we would talk
for many hours. During that time, I hid my feelings behind my humor and

My Identity Essay
One aspect of my identity which has shaped my life tremendously, is being the only natural born
citizen born into a family composed entirely of immigrants. My family, including my
grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and further extended relatives all immigrated to America
from Albania. For some of my family, like my grandparents, they immigrated here when they
were already very old, for others like my sister, this happened when they were only two years old.
My parents immigrated to America with my sisters when they were middle ages, and I was born
here soon after. Out of all of the large family that I have, I am the only one of all of us, who was
born in America. This is an aspect of myself which has made me grow and shape into the person I
am. It has affected my identity and life in many ways that I have come to realize and many that I'm
sure I have yet to understand. When immigrating to America, you aren't automatically given a
wonderful life. You have to work for such things. In the case of my parents, they went through trials
and tribulations which taught them and changed the people they were. In the case of my sisters,
who came here when they were younger, it affected the way they grew up and learned about
themselves. In my case, I'm only loosely related to the immigration of my family. Instead of going
through the same trials of immigration that my sisters had to, I have had to fight through different
problems and grow in my own ways. One way this has shaped me is

Every time I am there for vacations or family visits as soon as I step foot out of the plane I'm instantly happier and calmer. My family and I are Christian and all of us have been brought up to follow the christian ways and to attend church. This affects my everyday life as long as I am told to pray every morning and night and every family gathering, praying is always involved, so our family is unquestionably religious. The number 15 isn't just my age, it's part of my culture as well. When the girls in my culture turn 15 everyone takes is serious since it's the age girls become women, therefore families throw a tremendous party to celebrate. There are countless people that I love, but I have narrowed it down to write about my family, friends, nephews, and my dog. Now usually people don't consider their pet people, but I consider my own dog my child through my eyes Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. My Identity Essays Over the course of my life I have had many life experiences which have made me who I am today. When I was in my middle childhood, most of my life revolved around playing and having fun. I did not have to put forth effort in hardly any area of my life or work hard in order to achieve specific goals. As time went on however, my own life experiences began to have an effect on me, and shape the person I am today. My life started to change the most during middle childhood when I was around the age of seven years old. At this point in my life, I had to adjust to several big changes. Our family was moving from our old house in the county into a new house in the city. We had to do this, because my mom had just given birth to my younger...show more content... As I went through elementary school I was not treated kindly by a large majority of my class. I was often the one singled out by others and excluded from activities. I am sure this has had an effect on my personality. Although I feel Erikson's psychosocial theory is correct, I believe it can be changed over time. At a young age, life experiences can play a large role in the shaping of a person's self–confidence and self–esteem. Even though an individual's past might not have been pleasant, as they get older they are able to gain awareness of past events and decide which ones will continue to have an effect on their lives (University of Illinois, 2013). The only year in elementary school I enjoyed was fifth grade. This school year was full of encouragement and kindness from my teachers. Their constant motivation and kind words gave me the confidence to improve my grades in school and interact more with my classmates. After fifth grade, my entire class and I left our old school, and relocated to the middle school. This change was not the easiest for me either. While elementary school was a tame and controlled environment, middle school gave students more freedom and was less strict on students. During middle school it was difficult for me to find a social reference group to associate myself Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Finding My Identity Essay Having an identity and finding yourself isn't always the easiest task to do, luckily I think I've found myself and I'm proud with the way I am and carry myself. Now, most people might not think that my outlook is the best way to go through life but fortunately I don't care what people think of me. I like standing out and being different but not in a very noticeable way; I am a regular guy, I'm weird, random, odd and extraordinary and I've really embraced the fact that I'm pretty apathetic. I've become this individual that really doesn't care about any outside opinions; as long as I feel comfortable with myself and what I'm doing, everything's okay. I'll listen to your thoughts but I won't pay much attention to it afterwards. My way of...show more content... I'm not really a religious person, my family is Catholic and although I do go to church every now and then, I don't consider myself to be devoted to a higher power. I don't even believe we will all be judged when we die and let into a nice place called heaven. I think that whenever a person dies they're just reborn in a hospital somewhere in the world, I don't know where I picked up this idea but it seems about right to me. Education is a very important factor in the lives of many people but, personally, I think everyone in the world should rely on their basic instincts. When teachers try to get through to me, I think that blocks them out. I learn better and get a good grasp on things when there's no one around. I can concentrate better and get the work that needs to be done finished. Work should be handed to each person equally because everybody needs money. Everybody should be given a shot at a job without being judged on their appearance or their way of life. In my life, I haven't accomplished a lot except I passed the CAHSEE on my first try, if you can count that as an accomplishment. Right now I am set on getting my high school diploma because even though people should use their natural instincts, I think I'll really need a diploma to have a better life. In conclusion, the way I live my life is very particular, I don't give much attention to anyone and I don't like to receive much Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. My Personal Identity Essay A person's identity is shaped by many different aspects. Family, culture, friends, personal interests and surrounding environments are all factors that tend to help shape a person's identity. Some factors may have more of an influence than others and some may not have any influence at all. As a person grows up in a family, they are influenced by many aspects of their life. Family and culture may influence a person's sense of responsibilities, ethics and morals, tastes in music, humor and sports, and many other aspects of life. Friends and surrounding environments may influence a person's taste in clothing, music, speech, and social activities. Personal interests are what truly set individuals apart. An individual is not a puppet...show more content... Society has had a limited impact on my lifestyle, mostly because I despise trends. The largest trends I despise are rap and hip–hop and the clothing, attitudes, and type of speech that that type of 'music' is breeding. I chose to steer away from that crowd, but it may also be because I live my life off of adrenaline. My high on life is the energy I have when I get my blood pumping, my heart pounding, and my adrenaline raging. Most aspects of my individuality reflect that very well. I love hard, aggressive music, and also guns, but my passion in life is extreme sports, whether it be on a dirt bike, a bmx bike, a snowmobile, or a snowboard. I have a strong set of morals and ethics that I have partly adopted from my parents, but some are also partly my own. My morals mostly consist of karma (being kind, caring, helpful, truthful, and considerate to others), not littering (especially in nature), respecting nature, keeping a clean and welcoming home, success that is measured with happiness and not possessions, and having strong family ties. I feel that I am very strongly rounded individual who is going to go far in life. Many people would agree with that, although some people just think that I am an absolutely crazy person who has a death wish and will not go anywhere but to the hospital or the morgue. Educational experiences also tend to influence a person's identity. I have not had too many educational Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Essay On My Identity My Identity Identity, we all have one and we are all different. My identity consists of being hardworking, intelligent, and athletic . These traits have all helped change my life for the better. This essay will cover the main ways these traits have affected my life. On June 26 2000, I was born into a loving middle class family who always worked hard to make sure they provided for essential needs and more for me and siblings. I grew up in an environment with parents who showed us, through their example, the importance of a strong work ethic. I have been able to do many things such as building sheds, getting jobs, and fixing broken computer because of my identity. My identity as a hard working individual has lead me down the path of becoming...show more content... I credit my intellectual enlightening to my second grade homeroom teacher Mrs.Jackson and my father who both taught me to alway try harder then I believe I can in school. My intelligence is something I have achieved over an extended period of time. I work hard everyday to become more intelligent than I am by doing things such as reading, studying harder than I should , getting all my work done on time, and paying attention in every class. My goal as a student is to gain as a much knowledge as I can so I can succeed in the future. I have found that my intellectual abilities have brought me to be able to create video games, make music, and create films. I learned all these very quickly at my first high school The Cleveland High School Of Digital Arts. My role as a worker also involves my intelligence trait. I need to know how to do many things such as knowing how to direct myself to homes of my customers, knowing how to give correct change, and knowing how to keep a continuous routine when answering phones. These action all require my intelligence traits due to the fact that if I wasn't intelligence I would not be able to to have the job that I currently have because I would constantly be doing actions such as making pizza, delivering pizza, giving correct change, and calculating my tips at the end of every shift. My intellectual ability has helped me with more stuff in my life, but in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. My Identity Every year I look back on the previous and I see how much I have changed. I see the friends I have gained and lost. The heartbreak and the happiness. Despite how rough times have gotten, it has truly made me stronger. Everything has shaped who I am today, it has shaped my identity. Identity is a complex topic because it consists of changeable and unchangeable traits and outside internal influences; my own identity has been shaped by going from private to public school, young life camp, and my current friends. On graduation day 2014, I would leave the only people I have known for nine years. Although all I knew were these people, I was more than happy to leave this small private school and have a change for once. Here at St. Mark Catholic School we only got one new person a year if that even happened. If you were new everyone judged everything about you to find out who you really were. As Jennifer Ouellette author of "Tokens and Totems" says, "We all make snap judgements when we meet new people, relying on certain cues to make assessments, and those judgements often can be accurate, at least in broad strokes" (23). We called the people who have been attending the school since kindergarten the "originals." Since the "originals" have all grown up together, everything in your life that happened, they knew it. Not only that is if they did not get their way, they would use anything bad that happened in your life against you. If something had made you different they used that to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. My Identity Essay My identity has been formed over the course of my life, especially throughout my pre–teen years, in 2012, when my parents decided to split, and my mother went off to live with in Bristol. I have become a completely different person from when I was ten years old, because of the people in my life, such as my teachers, my parents, and my friends. I feel as though I have become a more well–rounded person, because of my experiences. пЊ‘ I have become more caring and receptive because of my mother My mother has helped me to understand myself, and to develop my characteristics because we have spent the majority of our lives together. One specific example would be in 2015, during an excursion to The Gower Peninsula in Wales, when, over a bonfire, we conversed about my father, and the subject of my conception came up. My mother told me that I was a mistake, because she was worried that she wouldn't be an adequate mother, and tried abortion. This impacted me considerably, and it has made me live more in the moment because anything can happen, I didn't feel like I was a mistake, or a failure or any of those labels, but I did realize that my time is limited, and I have to make the most of it. Another example is that during the initial split, my mother lived 5 minutes away from my house, and I would regularly make unscheduled visits to her apartment, and just talk to her. I comforted my mother, and we would talk for many hours. During that time, I hid my feelings behind my humor and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. My Identity Essay One aspect of my identity which has shaped my life tremendously, is being the only natural born citizen born into a family composed entirely of immigrants. My family, including my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and further extended relatives all immigrated to America from Albania. For some of my family, like my grandparents, they immigrated here when they were already very old, for others like my sister, this happened when they were only two years old. My parents immigrated to America with my sisters when they were middle ages, and I was born here soon after. Out of all of the large family that I have, I am the only one of all of us, who was born in America. This is an aspect of myself which has made me grow and shape into the person I am. It has affected my identity and life in many ways that I have come to realize and many that I'm sure I have yet to understand. When immigrating to America, you aren't automatically given a wonderful life. You have to work for such things. In the case of my parents, they went through trials and tribulations which taught them and changed the people they were. In the case of my sisters, who came here when they were younger, it affected the way they grew up and learned about themselves. In my case, I'm only loosely related to the immigration of my family. Instead of going through the same trials of immigration that my sisters had to, I have had to fight through different problems and grow in my own ways. One way this has shaped me is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
