When Duracool® built their state of the art blending and refining facility in
Edmonton Alberta one of the foremost concerns was for consistency, quality and guaranteed performance.

Since our first day of operation every blend of Duracool® Refrigerant has carried the written guarantee that the use of
Duracool® Refrigerants will not harm any component in a Mobile Air Conditioning System. This statement is a result of
our blending facility and the manufacturing of Duracool® Refrigerants to exacting specifications. To our knowledge
Duracool® Refrigerants Inc. owns and operates the only state of the art blending facility of this type in all of North America.

We are confident that you are aware of other companies that market hydrocarbons that contain either a “Forest Scent”
or similar odours. These compounds are often used in the production of air fresheners and are not commonly used for
refrigerants. Most companies do not blend their own refrigerants thus have no control over the performance of the final product.

Duracool® Refrigerant is the Premium Hydrocarbon Refrigerant in North America.
Our refrigerants are highly refined and blended and laboratory tested in our own manufacturing plant! We know of no
other company in North America that can make this claim. Duracool® does not contain the fragrant scents that many
other companies use, but contains an added industry accepted and recognized stenching agent called “Mercaptin”
which is purposely added to assist consumers and technicians in leak detection should a leak occur.

Tune-Up & Sealant Kit
Duracool® Professional Mobile A/C Tune-Up and Sealant Kit

The Duracool® Mobile A/C Tune-Up kit is suitable
for use in all mobile air conditioning systems and is
compatible with all mobile refrigerants and lubricants.
The kit consists of a three part process designed to
remove moisture from the system, seal any leaks
which are present in the system and to replace any
lubricant that has been lost from the air-conditioning
system.
The sealer is chemically activated by moisture
which is present at the leak and forms a
permanent and lasting seal.
The kit will stop leaks in any metal parts, “O” rings or
gaskets and connecting hoses located within the air-
conditioning and refrigeration system.
Any sealant which is not used sealing the initial leak
remains in the A/C system and will continue to travel
with the refrigerant as a preventative maintenance
measure to stop any future leaks should they occur.

The kit is designed for both the “ Do it Yourself Enthusiasts” and the “ Professional Repair Technician”. The easy to follow
step by step installation instructions will guide you through the installation procedure. In many cases this task has been completed in
less than an hours time. The contents of the kit will remove any moisture in the system, stop leaks in the system and replace any
refrigerant oil that may have been lost as a result of leaks. Each kit contains adapter fittings for older vehicles or equipment, a charging

Moisture in the air-conditioning system is one of the leading cause of A/C failures.

Designed to repair minor leaks in the evaporator, condenser, gaskets, “0” rings, connecting fittings and
metal lines. Duracool SystemSeal™ was designed to eliminate costly repairs in the form of replacement
parts and expensive service labor. Duracool SystemSeal™ may be used safely in all air-conditioning
systems. (Duracool 12a ®, Duracool 22a™, Duracool 502a™, CFC-12, R-134a, R-22, and R-502.)
The 4 ounce container contains a sufficient amount of Duracool SystemSeal™ to seal leaks in a 2 lb. to 5
lb. A/C System, providing that a leak does not empty the system to a point where the compressor will not

Duracool DuraDry™
Moisture in an air-conditioning system will cause damage to the system. Moisture will combine with
lubricants such as PAG oil, Ester oil and Refrigerants like R-134a to form acids and other corrosive
compounds that will harm the system. Duracool DuraDry™ contains a moisture removing additive that
converts moisture in the system into a synthetic oil. We recommend the use of Duracool DuraDry™
before the use of Duracool SystemSeal™ or Duracool SealQuick™ to ensure all moisture has been
removed from the air-conditioning system. The 4 ounce container contains a sufficient amount of
Duracool DuraDry™ to remove moisture in a 2 lb. to 5 lb. A/C System providing that the system has

refrigerants and lubricants including (Duracool 12a ®, Duracool 22a™, Duracool 502a™, CFC-12,

Tech talk - how it works
The Smart VOV (variable orifice valve) uses system pressure and refrigerant flow to move a metering piston relative to a fixed
opening in the sleeve. The piston movement is resisted by an attached spring.
When idling at high ambient temperatures, the piston shifts to a smaller metering area similar to a TXV. This compensates for
the reduced compressor output and increases the cooling performance. The Smart VOV also has a unique re-open feature
which reduces compressor pressure for severe idle conditions.
At highway speeds, the Smart VOV operates on a large orifice. The net result is better performance than a TXV without the
complexity or reliability concerns.

Unlike a TXV, which has constantly moving parts and small internal clearances, the Smart VOV is stationary during most
operating conditions and has large internal clearances. Its low friction floating design insures smooth operation and extremely
long life.

The Smart VOV is a refrigerant expansion device that substantially increases air-conditioning cooling at idle and in city traffic.
It is a self contained “drop-in” replacement for standard orifice tubes; it creates colder discharge air temperatures by
automatically reducing the orifice area at low compressor speeds, such as when idling or driving in city traffic.
The Smart VOV variable orifice opens to a larger size when at highway speeds to maintain pressures comparable to, or lower
than, a standard orifice tube
Compressor life can be significantly increased due to decreased compressor load: in hot ambient highway patrol testing,
compressor failures were reduced by a factor of ten.
This innovative valve can even improve fuel economy, especially in city driving conditions
Test vehicles with the Smart VOV have demonstrated excellent performance, outstanding reliability, and extended compressor
life in over two million miles of severe use desert testing.

For 1988 and newer Cadillacs and other vehicles equipped with a temperature sensing clutch cycling switch.
This adapter acts as a spacer moving the Smart VOV refrigerant exit holes back and away from the
temperature sensing cycling clutch switch. Without the adapter the sensor doesn’t see the true refrigerant temperature, resulting
in false tripping of the loss of refrigerant switch.
