Drawing on his own experiences teaching with technology, Professor Verkerke will share his perspective on both the promise and the challenges of using instructional technology. He will explain how his teaching philosophy guides each decision to adopt a technological tool and why groups like UCIT need to encourage the University to continuously evaluate and invest in appropriate instructional technologies. Verkerke will emphasize that, to be effective, technological tools should be used not for their own sake but to create a productive learning environment. His ideas on the subject will contribute to a thoughtful dialogue about how best to use and support instructional technology at the University.
