The document summarizes the agile transition of Ericsson's organization from 2008-2012 in brief chronological snapshots. It describes initial dissatisfaction with performance in 2008, the first ideas to improve in 2009, a decision to start an agile transition in the third quarter of 2009, and changes to the organization and the dawn of agile in the fourth quarter of 2009. It then outlines further developments over subsequent quarters including establishing a new leadership team, training coaches and employees, releasing products, sorting through issues, and improving processes to focus more on value delivery.

I was a key contributor to the agile transition of our organization. Since
2009 I am head of Portfolio- and Technology Management for Mobile Core
products at the head office in Stockholm, Sweden. I am supporting the
enterprise transition to lean and agile by consulting other parts of Ericsson.
