1. Have you ever wondered why we celebrate
Veterans day. It started in 1921 when a
unidentified world war one soldier was
buried in Arlington National cemetery.
2. A annual memorial ceremony was
established, beginning on
Novemeber, 11, 1921 to honor all the
soldiers who’d fought in the 1st world war.
3. Later in 1929 the annual day of the
memorial became known as Armistice
day and in 1938 it was declared a
national holiday.
4. In 1956 following World War Two and
the Korean war a decision was made too
change the name of the holiday, people
wanted it to honor all veterans so it
was changed to Veterans day
