Copy of semesters first essay!

 1. 1. Semesters first essay!
By Tylen Mundy!
2. 2. Intro!!!
Web 2.0 tools and applications, collaborative technologies, emerging technologies, and social media. What do all of these terms mean; well that’s what I’m going to be telling you about in my next paragraphs. This is what I have learned about the previous terms.
3. 3. About web 2.0
From my research I have learned that web 2.0 tools and applications are today’s way of being able to interact with people all over the world via web use. There are various sites that allow you to do this depending on what you are looking for; if you just want to be keep an online journal that other people can read and review, blogging would be for you, some of the more popular blogging sites today are: twitter, blogger.com, which I use, and gizmodo. If you are looking for a more personal way to communicate I would choose to video chat, using either skype or windows live messenger.
4. 4. Collaborative technologies
Collaborative technologies is technology used by people today looking to achieve one goal together, and certain software’s help them do this. This can be categorized as general web use such as internet explorers, e-mail, and even making your own website in order to expand your company’s advertisement. Emerging technologies are those technical advances which represent progress within a certain field. An example of an emerging technology would be music and how it has changed, no more than fifteen years ago people were still listening to cassette tapes, after the tapes compact disks, or cd’s were introduced and now with have iPods that magically hold thousands of songs in a tiny devise.
5. 5. Social media
Finally we have social media, or user guaranteed content. You use social media in your everyday life, some more than other. For instance every Monday we get on YouTube to watch a video and then leave a comment, YouTube is a form of social media you can watch videos, listen to music or learn how to do something.
6. 6. Finale!!!
I think what I have learned about today was very interesting; it was exciting to see how technology has changed so much in the last few years and what it has in store for us in the years to come. I feel that here shortly you will no longer have to leave your house and stop making dinner to go to a meeting; you will be able to have a virtual meeting in your kitchen.
