2. Hi, we are fifth graders from room 21. We
are doing an IB exhibition project on Animal
Cruelty. Today we will tell you what animal
cruelty is and how you can help prevent it
from happening.
3. We chose to do our topic on animal cruelty
because we would like to inform people about
the dangers of cruelty towards animals. If
you witness animal cruelty please tell an
adult.
4. If you are a witness of animal cruelty, get an
adult. If you are eighteen or older, call the
police or animal control. (911). Do not put
yourself in the middle of animal abuse. Do
not try to stop it on your own. You may be
putting yourself and others in risk if you do.
5. Before 1986 only 4 states had animal cruelty
laws, now all 50 states have animal cruelty
laws.
70% of animal abusers have a criminal record.
Neglect and abandontment are the most are
the most common forms of animal cruelty.
Every year over one million animals are
treated cruely.
6. The most abused animal is a chicken because
they are used for food. Some chicks are
eaten as eggs which means they are put to
death before they are born.

humane society they will teach us about
animal cruelty and how it effects the world.
