Asthivaha srotas
• Asthi vaha srotas carries nutrients to bones.
• The root of asthivaha srotas located at -

(Sushruta has not mentioned Asthivaha srotas) .
MEDA – Fat / Adipose tissue (since in the chronology of formation of dhatus, asthi
is formed after meda and the building blocks for the bone tissue come from fat tissue)
JAGHANA - Thigh / Hip bones
3. Srotodusti nidana
Any imbalance in the working of the channels raises the toxic levels in the
body leading to deadly diseases.
The food and Regimen which are similar to the qualities of Dosha and
which are opposite to the qualities of Dhatu are the causes of
Srotodushti.
आहारश्च विहारश्च यः स्याद्दोषगुणः समः ।

Principles of Aashrayaashrayee bhava
Asthi dhatu is the seat of Vata dosha and Asthi & Vata are inversely proportional to each other
regarding increase and decrease. Specially Increase of Vata leads to decrease of Asthi.

• Atisamkshovat - Excessive agitation of the body
• Asthanam cha ativighhatanat - Excessive friction / rubbing of bones
• Vatalanam cha sevanat - Food and regimen which increases Vata

• Adhyasthi - Extra growth of bone tissue
• Adhi dantau - Extra growth of teeth
• Danta bheda, shoola - Toothache, splitting or splitting pain in tooth
• Asthi bheda shoolam - Bone pain, splitting pain in bones
• Vivarnataa - discoloration of body
• Kesha dosha - deformities and diseases of hairs
• Loma dosha - deformities and diseases of body hair, hair root disorders, disorders of
skin pores
• Nakha dosha - deformities and disorders pertaining to nails and nail bed
• Shmashru dosha - Deformities and disorders of mustache

• Administration of Panchakarma is the main treatment principle.

• The treatment of vitiation of Majjavaha and Shukravaha srotas are done on the same
principles.
Madhura tikta anna - foods which are predominant in sweet and bitter tastes
Vaivyaya - indulgence in sexual activities
Vyaayaama - indulgence in exercises
Shudhi kaale cha matraya – Appropriate purificatory measures should be
administered in proper dose in proper time or season (like administration of
Vamana in Vasanta or spring season, Virechana is Sharad or autumn period etc )
