2. What is Road Safety?
The term road traffic safety is an
indication of how safe individual users
are on some particular road, or on the
roads belonging to some region.
The main danger to road users is the
likelihood of a traffic collision.

More than 1.2 million people are
killed in Road Accidents,
WORLDWIDE , every year.

4. 3 to 4 % of Gross National Product is
lost in Road Accidents.

Accidents, every three minutes in
the World.

Drunk Driving
Using Mobile Phones while Driving
Irresponsible Driving
Ignoring Safety Precautions
Not wearing of helmets and seatbelts

7. A RED light means that you must
come to a full stop behind the stop
line.
Remember, the crossing of stop
line is an offence. You have to
remain there until the light turns
green.

8. The YELLOW color light
means CAUTION. When
the yellow light turns on
it gives you a signal to
be ready for the go.

9. A GREEN light means
GO through the
intersection carefully
and slowly.

18. Steps to be taken for
preventing Road Accidents
Most important method to bring down
accidents is strict enforcement of
speed limits.
Heavy penalty should be imposed for
those who cause accidents.

19. How to prevent Road Accidents
Motorcycle should have a speed
limit of 50/60 kmph.

20. All drivers need to under go
driving test for issue of driving
license which should be
compulsory.

21. Helmet should be made compulsory
by law in all states, OR impose a
lower speed limit for those who do
not use helmet.
Helmet should be made compulsory
for front and back seat riders also.

22. Children should not go on busy
roads.
All those who do not maintain the
safe distance for the speed should
be punished.

23. Video and Computer Games that
simulate Racing should be banned
by the Government OR discouraged
by parents as it will develop racing
habit in children.

24. Racing and over speed / highly risky
riding, driving by Heroes should not
be filmed in cinemas and TV serials.
Government should censor such
scenes.

25. School Buses should be painted with
Bright Yellow color.
Let ‘Road Safety’ be a mandatory
topic for School Projects for all
classes, every year.

26. How to prevent Road Accidents
Black or Dark colors should not be
permitted for Cycles/Cars. Default
color should be Yellow.

28. Black vehicles consume more fuel to
maintain the air conditioner cooling, as
black color absorb more heat from
atmosphere.
