2. Region where Wood
Storks are found.
Everglades. They are found in fresh water ecosystems
such as freshwater marshes, ponds, hardwood and
cypress swamps and shallow tidal pools or marrow tidal
creeks.
3. Why’s it Endangered?
It is endangered because they are
not multiplying as much as they
used to be. There is not enough
food (small fish) to support the
breeding colonies.
4. Protect the Wood Storks
The State Wildlife Resources Commission are working
with the Coastal Land Trust and The Nature Conservancy
to place easements on the areas that wood Storks might
want to feed or nest.
