PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF ELGIN, Elgin IL
Director of Programs & Impact 2013-2015
Successfully obtained $160,564 in federal funding for the Boys & Girls Club of Elgin hot
meals food program. Served meals for 200 members per day. During the first six weeks of
operation we served 5770 meals to members.
In partnership with the second lowest performing elementary school in the district, I
designed an after-school program that would allow the members to experience academic
growth and at the same time have fun. After the first 2 months of programming, 100% of
members showed improvement in their reading abilities.
Developed a robust Gardening program that incorporated a farm-to-table approach for
members. Increased the raised bed growing space by 386%. During the 2015 growing
season, 790 members and 33 volunteers participated in the program.
Led a team of staff members in a collaborative effort to define new innovative arts
programming that resulted in the formation of a percussion and dance group called Stomp
Crew. Less than a year after it’s formation, the Stomp Crew was 1 of 7 groups selected
from over 100 entries to perform at the BGCA National Conference in Chicago.
Office Manager 2010-2013
In order to free up the Executive Director to focus more heavily on Resource Development, I
assumed responsibility for state and federal grant budget preparation and reimbursement
requests totaling approximately $780,000 annually. Paperwork was completed on a timely
basis, allowing for an improved cash flow for the organization.
As Office Manager for the Boys & Girls Club of Elgin, I was responsible for all accounts
payable, payroll, credit card reconciliation, gift processing and entry, and general donor
database management for the organization’s $1.3 million budget. Gift acknowledgement
letters were generated within 24 hours of gift receipt.
