KFC in India  KFC entered India in 1995 with an outlet in Bangalore.  KFC has 27 stores, 7 in Delhi, 5 in Bangalore, 4 in Hyderabad, 2 each in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Pune, and 1 each in Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Agra.  Yum restaurants have 98 Pizza Huts and 6 KFC restaurants  Yum! Restaurants is planning to add 36 more outlets this year.  Nearly 97% of urban Indians eat out in groups of three or more, and at least one of them is a vegetarian, would mind going to a place that specialised in non-vegetarian food.  Indians love spicy food especially non-vegetarian.  There is a change in lifestyle, consumer behaviour and consumption patterns.  Target audience for KFC includes young working adults, with or without kids, and essentially, youth, from SEC A and B, aged between 25 and 30, living in cities.  KFC faces competition from all single-owned outlets that sell chicken as a primary product in India.
