and new local drought-resilient sources of potable supply

New Local Drought-Resilient Supply Credit
Begins to recognize investments in drought-resilient
supplies
Water agency’s conservation standard reduced up to 8
percentage points based on amount of supply
Applies to supplies developed after 2013
Excludes Water Authority transfer of conserved water
Applies primarily to
seawater desalination
and coastal indirect
potable re-use projects

New Local Drought-Resilient Supply Credit
Certification Submittals
Deadline for submittal is March 15, 2016
If accepted, credit will apply to a supplier’s March 2016 conservation
standard
In coordination with member agencies, Water Authority staff
submitted supporting documentation on February 17, 2016
Member agencies submitted required certification form referencing
Water Authority documentation
For submittals received prior to February 22, 2016, SWRCB staff
expects to post adjusted conservation standards first week of March
Working with SWRCB staff to initiate crediting March 1 for those
agencies that submitted certification documentation by February
22, 2016
