2. DRILLING OF RECHARGE WELLS
Drilling manually in Alluvial areas – Rs. 100 -
200/- per m.
With rig in Alluvial areas – Rs. 400 - 500/- per m.
In Hard rock areas with DTH rig – Rs. 1000 –
1400/- per m.
Cost of drilling charges reduces if the depth of the
drilling is more (depends on negotiations).
3. CASING OF PVC PIPES
The cost includes filling of gravel and bail plug.
Rs. 250 – 300/- per m. for 4” dia pipe – ISI
approved brands.
Rs. 350 – 400/- per m. for 6” dia pipe – ISI
approved brands.
Cost may vary depending upon the quality
,Pressure or thickness of pipes.
The cost does not vary much for the slotted
portion of the pipes.
4. EARTH WORKS
Excavation includes disposal of surplus,
backfilling, labour, etc.
Rs. 160/- per cu.m. in Alluvial areas
Rs. 300/- per cu.m. in Hard rock areas
5. PCC FOOTING FOR FOUNDATION
This is required for providing foundation below
the brick work.
Rs. 2500 – 3000/- per cu.m.
Cement: Coarse Sand: Stone aggregate (15 mm.
or less) – 1:4:8
The sand used nowadays is mainly coarse one like
Stone dust, Red sand with minimum silt contents
etc..
6. BRICK WORK
This is required for creating storage in the
trench and for filter media.
Rs. 3500 /- per cu.m. approx.
The cost depends upon the quality of brick and
cement-sand ratio (1:6 or 1:4).
In recharge structures generally no plastering is
done.
7. FILTER MEDIA
The filter media generally consists of sand,
gravel and boulder – inverted filter.
The cost varies from Rs. 1000 – 1200/- per cu.m.
The cost includes material, labour, levelling,
transportation, etc.
The cost variation for sand, gravel and boulder is
not much and are within a specified range.
8. RCC SLAB
This is used to provide cover to the recharge
trench.
They are mainly detachable, so as to undertake
regular maintenance.
Fixed Slabs may be considered with manhole
provisions
The cost varies from Rs. 3000 – 3500/- per cu.m.
The cement:sand:stone aggregate (20 mm. or less)
– 1:2:4
9. TOR STEEL - REINFORCEMENT
The cost is generally Rs. 35 - 40/- per Kg.
This includes transportation, labour, binding wire,
cutting, etc.
The spacing of the Tor Steel are generally 6”, 4”
or 3” depending upon the cover span of the area &
thickness of the RCC slab/strength required
(generally the slabs are 7 cm./10 cm./15 cm.
thick).
Cement Mortar ration should be 1:2:4 (1-
cement:2-coarse sand:4-stone agg. 15mm or less)
10. SHUTTERING
Shuttering is mainly to provide cushion for RCC
slabs.
Cost for shuttering is generally Rs. 300/- per
Sq.m.
The cost includes transportation, fixing,
shuttering, binding, labour, etc.
The cost principle says, less area – more cost and
vice versa.
11. INLET AND OULET PIPES
Rs. 300 – 400/- per m. for 10” dia.
RCC pipe.
Rs. 300/- per m. for 6” dia. PVC
pipe.
The cost includes for material only
and does not include transportation,
etc.
12. MISCELLANEOUS CHARGES
This includes contingencies, in-house
transportation, site clearance, etc.
The cost varies from Rs. 1000/- to Rs.
2000/-.
The cost depends on the size of the
trench/pit.
13. OPTIONALS - PLASTERING
This is done where the trench is near to the
basement or it is intended to recharge through
recharge well only.
Rs. 150/- per Sq.m. with 12 mm. thick plaster
with Jamuna sand.
Cement:Sand – 1:6 on walls and 1:4 on the
bottom of slab.
14. OPTIONALS – FINISHING
WITH FLOATING CEMENT
Plastering of slabs and finishing it with a floating
coat of neat cement is required in certain specific
sites where the recharge structure is located on the
front of an institutional campus.
Rs. 150/- per Sq.m. with 12 mm. thick plaster.
15. OPTIONALS – MS COVERS
Rs. 35/- to Rs. 40/- per Kg.
The cost depends on nature of angles, square bars,
flat hinges, fabrication, etc.
This type of covers are one of the substitutes for
RCC slabs.
SFRC covers are also in use—cheaper option will
cost around Rs.800/- for 600x450mm
16. THUMB RULE OF COSTING
Rs. 5000/- per cu.m cost towards civil
work
Plus drilling & casing cost as per soil
formation
Plus Rs.500/- to 700/- per R.mtr cost
towards channelizing
